I heard that vic drift were going to be having days at calder sometime in the future. Is there any truth to that?

Next year maybe :)

We helped Calder get their wed nights back to their former glory with heaps of flow and passengers can now be taken(check rule and regs)

Calder also are running a beginers section like the fullock guys used to run. With Chris Dejager as Tutor to sit in with first timers.

sounds good! but is a bit expensive.. 90bucks for entry.. but i guess it worth it.. ill be there on the 27th at calder >_<

We run 20 cars for 20 minutes at Winton on the track. Most drivers get 4 or 5 laps in each session. A set of scrap tyres will only last 4 or 5 laps(unless you drive a sprinter! lol) so it works well you get sent in just when you run out of tyres! by the time you take a piss and change tyres its time to go back out again!

Calder is keen to support drift and is rumored to be holding a skid pan thing in the thunder dome(Pit lane) in the near future!

Yay masive figure 8's :laughing-smiley-014:

yeah my brother was at winton last time, he thought it worked perfect.. i will be there on sat!! but i will be starting on the beginners course to get the hang of things with my car, as i havnt driven it for months

  • 2 weeks later...

The beginer section has been shut down permenantly at winton due to track damage.

Calder drift nights still have beginers section and hopefully we at Vicdrft will have some Days at Deca just for beginers.

Beginers are still welcome at winton and will be given plenty of space between cars to make them feel comfortable.

you wouldnt be expecting much from beginners will you?

its bound to have some track damage because people are all over the place when you are beginning.. like i was

Yeah we know this. But unfortunately Winton can not afford to keep repairing the track after

each drift meet.

VicDrift will organize something new for beginers soon.

Come to calder if you can. Beginers section there is great.

  • 2 weeks later...

Calder is great if you have a roll cage cause you can take passengers and i hear soon they intend to concrete up to the wall "under the bridge" section which will make for some good spectating as drivers link the esse's to the last corner in one slide!

there was 64 cars at the last wed drift practice there, awsome turnout.

  • 4 weeks later...

ill be at the next calder on the 29th.. was a shame hitting that barrier but ill be out again before the 33 comes off the road to get another turbo setup...

love the track, very fast

    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
