Well, I'm not sure if this is a joke or not but..........the flutter comes from not having a blow off valve. Just take yours off (if you actually own a car with a turbo) and plug it up. But the lag between gears pisses me off so I go back to the trusty HKS SSQV. Please do searches, questions like these have been answered sooooo many times.

Hi mate.

The only such thing as a perfect BOV is a re-circ one. And sounds like you dont want that.

Please have a search around.

You'll find most of your questions will probabl have been asked once or twice before :D

i did try looking but i didn't find them. thanks anyway

You will hate your atmo bov once your car starts stalling on freeways, traffic lights and other busy places.

Been there done that.

If you really want to waste your money on a bov, get a GFB Stealth fx. They sound good and can be adjusted manually.

He's said he has a PFC in his other thread. If you put an atmo bov on you can tune out all the negative effects that it has on the stock ecu.

Its true. I bought my car with an aftermarket atmo BOV (the sort that goes Psssshhh)

Sure as my first turbo car it put a grin on my face but trust me, I wish I had the stock re-circ BOV handy. Doesn't look all that cool when you pull upto a set of lights and promptly stall. Also causes overfueling when changing gears (loud pops)

The stalling was annoying me so much I went down and bought a piece of rubber hose and some cable ties and did a home DIY job of MAKING my bov plumb back. It kinda worked, doesn't stall nearly as much now but it still has issues, the rubber hose doesn't make the best seal around the BOV vent hole so its still venting about half of it.

Its a pain in the ass I tells ya.

And having driven my car for a year or so now with the atmo BOV, you get sick of it pretty quickly. Do I prefer the psssh noise? I guess, it does turn heads. Is it worth the stalling issues? No way.

Not having ever used the stock BOV (that vents back in) I wouldn't know for sure but I would assume it would make some noise anyway would it not?

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
