Hi there, I have an R33 with the usual mods, 3" zorst, FMIC, Haltech E6K, 12psi on standard turbo.

Im wanting to rebuild the turbo with GCG turbochargers,

Nissan GTS-T R32 & R33 Upgrade of Standard Turbocharger:-

The factory turbocharger is a ball bearing T3 sized unit with a ceramic turbine wheel. In upgrading this unit we replace the ball bearing pack with a new one while replacing the turbine wheel and compressor wheel with hi-flowed models. The upgrade comes in two stages.

XTRGTST-STG1 450hp rated $2250.00

XTRGTST-STG2 500hp rated $2450.00

Then im assuming a new fuel setup,

Fuel pump,

Injectors, what size would suit ? what are the standard size?

Any constructive comments would be dearly appreciated.

Thanks guys...

:uh-huh: :uh-huh:

u will need 550cc side feed injectors (hard to find) 600hp fuel pump, ebc to control boost properly, new clutch, z32 afm and if u want it to run rice i suggest u get lightened flywheel and adj cam gears, pineapples for the rear.

I am going the same thing and have bought about 75% of the parts for my upgrade

I am actually looking into the same highflow option through GCG.

However the info that I received from GCG is:

Thank you for your enquiry, we can do a high flow to your turbocharger but it is a little more involved than a standard turbocharger, this is due to the fact that your turbocharger is ball bearing and has a ceramic turbine shaft. The rebuild / hi flow we carry out to these unit are as follows:-

Turbine Wheel  - replaced and upgraded with a inconel(steel) wheel , either stage 1 or 2

Compressor Wheel - replaced and upgraded with T04 wheel, either stage 1 or 2

Bearing Pack - replace with an XTR ball bearing package

Turbine Housing - machine to accept either of the larger wheels

Compressor Housing - machined to accept either of the larger hi flow wheels

Wastegate Actuator - standard or upgradeable to have higher boost pressure as standard.

Costs - Stage 1 = $2250.00    Rated @ 400hp

Stage 2 = $2450.00    Rated @ 450hp, does require other mods i.e. intercooler, fuel, etc

These prices are for the turbocharger only, but remembering that in effect the turbocharger centre will be brand new and the turbocharger will bolt straight back onto the engine with all fittings.

If you are going stage 1 then you can bolt it straight on without changing anything else however this will not perform to its maximum efficiency. If you are going for stage 2 then you need to do fuel, fmic, computers, etc

The standard size are 320cc i think, anything bigger will be better. i.e. 550cc would do the job nicely.

You could also look at getting the injectors high flowed.

You will also need a new computer. I see you already have a aftermarket computer so you will need to retune it.

Hope this helps :P

My mate just whacked some S6 side feed injectors into his R33... with a high flowed turbo and FMIC the power FC is showing like a 65% duty cycle with these injectors on 1.5 bar of boost... They are good :P Think he paid a bit for em though, but not as much as getting like sard ones or nething like that......we looked into those as well they are exxy!

S6 RX7 ones, i know he paid like under $400 for the 6 of them cleaned and checked...I *think* from memory they are the secondary ones check with some kinda workshop about them though cause its been so long that we did them that i have forgotten the nitty gritties about it...Next time i see him i'll ask him... The thing is though the S6 arnt side feed like the standard R33 ones, they are a top mount feed, u just have to create a new fuel rail which is easy as!!! Its worth it though

Yeah he had to get his ultrasonically cleaned but it still worked out cheaper then buying some side feed injectors to bolt in.... We made up the new rail from another forum that he saw (can't member what that forum is though)....basically its just a rubber hose with metal T-piece inserted in it and then another piece of rubber run down to the injectors and all hose clamped and the standard regulator at one end as per normal...I'll see if i can get some pics of it this weekend for u!!

Cool thanks for the comments guys.

I think im going to go stage 2 and get some 550cc injectors,

Bigger fuel pump, Oil cooler, ect... Am I forgetting anything?

How much boost to run on this setup ? 18psi ? What boost is most effecient the stage 2 GCG setup ?

sound like they're aren't exactly doing a rebuild, more of a case fitting a new cartridge with the appropiate wheels, and machining that to fit ur housing, and at those price seem a bit high to me. so basically ur buying a new cartridge and machining for over 2k? not very cheap.

    • thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price
    • Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?
    • Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
