all those problems seem very minor. shouldn't cost ya 2 much to fix. im my experiance car yards are not the way to go.

thats not the point mate, he shouldnt have to pay for all that.

how he sold you a lemon in the 1s place is beyond me. did u check the car n ne way?

i also think this "cant name the business" rule is bs. although i know why its a rule its still bs

I agree, its ridiculous that this site tries to protect the (seemingly) corrupt.

If someone has a bad experience they should let others know, just like if they have a good experience.

Any legitimate car dealerships would prefer this as they would get the business they deserve for being legitimate.

yeah well i already cast my view on it... really i think its quite soft. It doesnt seem to be policed much when it comes to non performance shop type businesses either... which is pretty gay but what can you do.

So go to another forum.

It isnt your forum, its ours. We run it how we like, and in such a way that ensures the site stays without any threats of being shutdown.

If you dont like it, tough.

And Ni, what threads do you speak of? Im not aware of any.

if they supplied you with a roadworthy certificate, and if anything doesnt comply with roadworthy standards THEY HAVE TO FIX IT for you and if they dont all you need to do is report it and they will get a HUGE fine, and then random checks on some of there previous road worthied cars, then if they fail, they loose there roadworthy issuing thingy, and lots more fines for them and they have to pay to bring all the cars that failed to road worthy standard

theres always someone on here complaining about something... ie. the thread not long ago which named and pin pointed the location of a particular servo out near my joint that was selling dodgey fuel. There have been threads which i could probably dig up naming bad service and shit food in restaurants... not McDonalds or big chains, but smaller ones which under the definition of this rule could hamper their business.

maybe we could make an addition like "If you comment on your good encounters with a workshop then your not allowed to mention its name"

lol

but like i said... what can ya do. Its the rules and theyre already in place JUST IN CASE. Better to be safe then sorry... live with it.

EDIT::

BTW when you say

It isnt your forum, its ours.

Whos ours? the admins? ze germans? the star wars nerd affiliation?

hey i bought a f**ked r34gtt from #some-place# live in alice the control arm was the wrong 1 the brakes was glazed ther was an oxy burn to the left front rim they installed a front mount and dident bolt it down and the turbo blue within 2 weeks and all the paint is flaking of the front bumper

:: edit'ed by paulr33 ::

we can't allow workshops to be named unfortunately

Hate to say this but did you get a mechanical inspection done before you handed the money over? Did you agree in writing on the condition of the car? If not, you should have.

Most of those things should be covered under the warranty that you get when buying any car from a dealer, so give them a call. But really you should have already known about them before you bought the car:

Didnt you see the oxy burn?

Didn't you feel something wrong with the steering/suspension when you test drove it?

Did the FMIC kit you bought come with supports? Did you check that it had them when you picked the car up?

Its Christians forum as you are well aware :D

And we Admin people help him keep it in order.. just like zee Germans!

If you see a thread thats slamming someone, there is a button called "report"

Use it

I try to read most threads across most sections, but... sometimes i cant.

Interesting that you registered on here a day or so before you posted.

Did you not think it would be a good idea to register on here and ask questions relative to buying a Skyline prior to putting your money down?

I also think it would not be to much to expect some photographic evidence to substantiate your claims. Both before and after.

I would be willing to bet every member on here would have almost worn the paint off photographing their Skyline the day after they bought it. :D

Its too easy to defame a business with nothing more than someones unsubstantiated claims however valid they may or may not be.

If valid I certainly hope you get compensated! - Go to VCAT WITH photos.

So true.

Imagine if you owned a business selling Skyline parts/cars and you didnt give some knob the 50% discount they want so they crack a teary and come on here detailing how they were treated so "unfairly"

The same effect can be achieved by focusing on who the good, recommended workshops and car yards are.

and if that happened we'd all just laugh and slap him with a wet fish...

cause wet fisheses hurts more... SLAP!

oh the imagery

Car warranties from used dealers are generally not worth the paper they're printed on, esp when it comes to skylines because as soon as you mod the car, your warranty is generally void.

You really ought to read the fine print in detail before letting a warranty sway your opinion or 'seal the deal' etc.

Most of the time they will find a way to get out of fixing your car.

Agreed, and I don't see anyone offering to pay or chip in for the costs/settlement when Christian gets sued for slandering a business.

I would also like it to be a free world where everyone can tell their side of the story and thus avoid making the same mistake but it's ultimately Christians' financial security at risk.

As soon as you let one person have a free for all and hope nothing comes of it, everyone will want to do it... much easier to draw the line and stick to it.

I'll just stick to PM's, phone calls and chatting in person when I want to have a whinge.

Even then the amount thats covered is often very limited.

A car dealer tried to offer warranty when i was looking around for my 32GTR. But when you have a good read of it, the motor is only covered upto $1000 worth. Im no expert, but im willing to bet that a rebuild of my motor would cost alot more than $1000 should something go wrong....:)

    • It might be worth having a good look at the chassis behind the bumper then; most people prefer the series 2 look so it might have been changed to cheaper parts as part of an earlier repair
    • The car itself a series 2. I was just curious about the headlights and just wanted to confirm that they were series 1. Good to know the rest of the front end is series 1. It’ll be easier for me to find parts on the aftermarket side of things lol
    • If you've wired up the coils & injectors properly, & have the neo CAS loom for the trigger, it should all work. The VCT works the same way so just different plugs between s1 & neo. Assuming DBW if no IAC. Don't bother with the stock boost solenoid with g4x.
    • THERE IS NO IAT SENSOR ON ANY SINGLE TURBO RB. And the one on an RB26 is not for "engine control" - it's really too big and too slow and is only used for over-temp alarming (as far as I can tell). Anyway, you don't have one. You want/need one for the Link, then you need to buy one, find a spot for it, and wire it in. You do know that the stock boost solenoid is not capable of "control", right? It is merely on or off, for the low boost (5 psi) and high boost (7psi), which the ECU enforces mostly based on gear. The stock solenoid is not for PWM control and is not plumbed up in a way to provide it. If you want to control boost properly, then you need a proper MAC valve. And yes, you can wire either of them direct to the ECU. Well, I assume you can - I don't know what the boost solenoid pins on the plug and play Link are capable of. They really should be as capable as any normal Link - but seeing as it is plg and play, it might be limited to stock functionality. Read the doco.   You really do just want to plug stuff together without understanding how it works, right? I can't help you there. I don't know the plug types or pinning on half the stuff you're asking about. If I had to do it I would sit down with the wiring diagrams, the car/looms and a multimeter and work out what is what.
