very nice... so no need to pay $220 eh.

might be an idea to put in a flat clear panel where the red plastic used to be.

now to red bulbs, any ideas?

- lightly paint the bulbs red

- a red plastic between the bulb and the tailights

oh yeh forgot about that part, i just went to repco, gave them my old bulbs and asked for red ones, grabbed two pairs of them at 4 bux a pair and all is good,

i only sprayed a very light coat of vht night shade, so light you could see straight through it, however as soon as i put it back in the light assembly they appeared black because the inside of the light assembly is black, this means that light shows through nicely so i dont have to worry about the cops

putting a clear thing of plastic would be a very good idea and as soon as i have time to do it i will,

all in the cost to do this was

vht night shade $20

red bulbs $8

$28 for r33 tail lights that are rare is pretty good i reckon lol

lol was gonna do this ages ago to match my front foggies but was gonna look shit due to my red brake wing light but i prefer the red on the silver cars

but for some reason they look awesome being clear on other cars

just my 2 cents

good point about it not retaining the red reflector :P

but oh well, just about every other mod iv done to my car is illegal, i mean if the lights didnt light up red i wouldnt have done it but people can still clearly see the red light up so i dont mind lol

That used to be my brothers car. Was making 466RWHP on 20psi. Was a very very tough car - running 10's :geek:

As for the lights, they were custom made. Take out the tail light and well "break" out the red covers. As long as there is a red globe in there (so when u brake its red), then that's fine.

The drop tank was fake, just a drop tank cover. Still looked awesome though!

i pulled out the old red lens and took it a plastic extruder to get matched with a clear one. silicon back onto the housing when done. i also tinted the inside of the lens too..

anyone have an idea on who can do this in perth? I emailed a couple places for a cost but noones responded to me

i dont have them anymore, but post 8 on here gives you more info/pics. it's all been covered already, just thought i'd share.

i found replacing the globe with a red one or even the led globes still wasn't enough, so i installed led's into the clear taillights too.

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
