Lukaz
Ok guys I have no idea who I can go to about this bout I figure if I post this thread someone will atleast give me an idea. I need to re wire my boot release/petrol cap cable as mine has snapped, and also "maybe" redo my bonnet release cable too as it feels like that could be going soon. If anyone has an experience with this PLLEEASSEE reply to this thread. Im working flat out at the moment and don't have much time to pull the everything out to find out exactly the parts I need. So basically im askin for advice and possibly if someone would be kind enough to acompany me to a wrecked skyline or something to show me which parts Id need to take etc. Car is an R32. Lukaz
Posted in maintance a few months ago, got no replys, I thought if I posted it here id have a better chance of catching someone local who could help out. Cheers Mav, Ive had a look under the carpet, My biggest concern is wrecking a mounting bracket or something, My boot is flakey as it is (Someone tryed to break into it by wedging a screw driver under the boot lid, f**ked the lock), so I was hoping Someone with some knowledge of it could help me just cane threw it as aposed to me doin trial and error and probably f**king something up worse. Infact thats how I made the boot release worse in the first place haha, the petrol cap was still working fine untill I had a shot at fixing it and now its f**ked too. adam-__-
How do these cables break? Does it just wear over time or are we doing something to it to break? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/176108-wantedneeded-help/#findComment-3228802 Share on other sites
R TUNE
hey mate, i had a similer problemin my r31 were my boot release would not work (wasn't the cable in the end but changed it any way). you will need the following, one boot release cable (u'rs broke right) you will need to located were the cable runs, my was from the driver's seat up the side of the car in to the boot and followed around till the boot lock. i did have to remove the rear seats and front seat to get under the carpet. i then removed the cable its quite easy. then replaced the cable in the same way i pulled it out. i then adjusted the boot lock (the bottom one) to get the boot to work properly and site right. all up too about 1 hour in total. should be fairly the same as the r31. hope this helps Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/176108-wantedneeded-help/#findComment-3228853 Share on other sites
Lukaz
Im pretty sure it just from wear over time, Redline - Thanks heaps for the help, I was figuring that, I dunno with R31s, but the release cable controls both the boot and petrol cap. You rekon there is any place I can source one of these out other than waitin for a wrecked R32 to pop up? adam-__-
Check your local wreckers mate. They have quite a lot of stuff. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/176108-wantedneeded-help/#findComment-3228960 Share on other sites
R TUNE
yea thats the same for r31 you push down on the leaver and it opens the fuel flap and pull up to open the boot. your best bet would be a wrecker that wrecks r32 or look in the for sale section here. you could even try and r31 (common as s at wreckers or being wrecked on r31skylineclub.com) and see if it fits. I know a few of them that are listed there would definately have the boot release cables available Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/176108-wantedneeded-help/#findComment-3230734 Share on other sites
