I know this has already been discussed on here but i'll be stuffed sideways if i can locate the thread!

Now my dilema is that i have a set of 17" 5zigen rims which are chrome....i like the shape of em but not the chrome.....what i am after is, does anyone know of a good place located on the north shore/northern beaches that powder coat wheels.....also can change the colour of em to a dark grey / black..ie Lenso Musa style!

I need them to be fixed up a little..ie some scratches on outer rims need fixing up aswell!!

If anyone has had this done and preferably in the area stated plz post em and a rough price that it cost!!

Cheers

Ando

Tosh...mate, cheers!!!!!!!... i finally realise you are good for something;) j/k's.....cheers heaps for that i wil get onto them and see what they can do!!!!

BTW has anyone had dealings with any of these companies? If so which do you recommend?

Ando

Memphis u got any pics of the wheels? How much does it cost roughly per rim to get this 2pac ( lol  sorry couldnt resist ) 2Pak rather, painted?

I'll do some calling around see what prices i can get....compare em to WA :D

Cheers

Ando

Powder coat is a lot tougher than 2pac, something to consider since wheels will get abused a lot more than your panels. ie, gutter scrapes, replacing tyres and wheel weights, even just taking them off and scratching them with the wheel brace.

Does powder coating involve some sort of clear protective coat on the top? I don't want to get my wheels powder coated any colour, I just want the gutter scrap repaired and put some sort of clear coat on the top to give it that 'new' finish.

Have any of you done this? How much did it cost approx?

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
