3 Weeks, Pulled Over Twice, Now On Probation

Recommended Posts

I have had my car for 3 weeks

First time, pulled over for a random check,

and all the questions that go with it, car was ok though!

Friday night in mornington, going home had a car load of drunk mates and was bout 1am down a long back road

doing 75 in a 60... SHIT go pulled over i only had one point left on my licence and they gave me three and took bout 1/2 an hour to go over my car! so now lucky me gets to be on bloody probation for 12 months!

AND yeah yeah i no i was doing the wrong thing, but it was 1am NOone around and on my way home! DONT say you havent done it b4!

i was so pissed off!

But i still love my car ;)

We have done it b4.... Sometimes u get caught... sometimes u dont... Sucks to be u. but probation isnt a bad thing.... u just need to drive how every P plater should... Like a granny and learn how to drive the correct way rather than the fast way ;).

hahahaha! yer true ;)

im a good lil driver though, cant say that bout to many of my friends though! i thought i was going to die when my friend got her licence yesterday, not that shes a hoon jsut that she cant drive! she reved her lil marage to 7 grand and dropped the cluch at the lights cause she doesnt know how to drive a manual! OMG hahaha!!!!

He he, does suck to be you. No one around accept for you and the cops. ;)

A lesson learnt i'm sure.

yer its a lesson, hahaha i have already given 5 points to mum but this time they accually pulled me over so no getting out of this one! i have to be a granny for 12 months! AH i reckon if i was in my old car i wouldnt have been pulled over though.. GRRR

Its interesting how some ppl pass to begin with isnt it ;)... Now a days tho u cant afford to even drive a nice car without the possibility of it being taken away from u or being "randomly" checked. I do think if u have things wrong then fair enough but if someone cant find anything and they knit pick, thats a bit wrong... tell u what tho.... I'm glad to see a cop giving a young girl the fine! Unfortunately it was u but I know a couple of girls, mate sis and her mates, that have NEVER been issued a ticket on the spot.... Even if they r doing the wrong thing. Good to see i say! if ur speeding u'll get pulled up no matter what car ur in lol.

yer i no its a bit sexist i think,

like i have been pulled over by guy cops but there always pretty nice, and let me off.. but if theres a girl there i get done, its happend twice now, both girls. grrr girls should look out for girls, hmm now im the one being sexist haha

guys dont look out for guys.... what area u get done in? maybe they r just targeting p platers in general or imports or both with the new hoon laws.... last thing u want is ur 1st decent car taken off u! BE GOOD!

Liam

what are these new hoon laws?

im in the mornington penisula area, but work in melbourne so i have to drive everyday, so i would be screwed if i lost my licence!

down myway is known for hotted up cars and HOONS haha nah it really is, once there wore undercover cops in a Torana SLR5000 draging ppl at the lights and then pulling them over! i think that is so wrong! but heaps of ppl die in accidents down my way.

ill be good  hahaha naw i have to be! AH

Maybe if your mother didnt cover you for your previous offenses you mightve learnt your lesson sooner. So you gave your mother 5 points, had 1 left and was given another 3? 12 Points by 20 isnt exactly a laughing matter. Good luck with the 12 month period of no points though, might be tough.

repeat offenders can have their cars impounded for 48 hours and court appearence... there r different charges like hooning speeding and drink driving... Once ur car has been impounded and u been to court if u get caught again it goes up and up nd until poooooof.... ur car is litterally taken off u and sold at police auction once all cases regarding that car r closed... Was reading it in the local paper and it was something like 173 cars in 12 months had been impounded for whatever periods of time just in my local area!

Liam

lose it for 3mths, thats what i did, only cause i was on holiday and didnt know i lost my license, well i came back on the last day to respond and they said it was too late, but anyways, i just gave a blind eye and drove around, and get my license back in 6days, i got pulled over twice, but no licencse check thank god, but i get targeted because im black and have tattoos, and if anyone says otherwise its true, i havnt been driving my skyline cause its off the road, so ive been driving a 1990 granny spec cressida... my favorite was been pulled over for having that rear window sunvisor thing, and i have to take it off on the side of the road... stupid cops, i hate them, i really do..

Im not an idiot,

i got a speeding fine, that was one piont, for 85 in an 80. so what.

i got a red light camra fine, that was from being stuck in a turning lane in the city, that wasnt fair, 3 points.

then got done bye a girl cop who made me cry she started swaring at me and hti the side of my car with her fist! she was tail gateing me in the right hand lane so i sped up to get out of her way and she pulled me over, did me for 120 in a 100 zone when i would have done 110 at tops, it was estimated. 3 points.

before last year i had been driving for 2 years and did not loose one point!

i think ppl can agreee with me that you have spills of pure bad luck. i did nothing more than what most ppl do everyday.

so yerrr..

i def get bad luck in spills. i hate it.

im definatly not finding it funny that im on probation, im laughing at how much it sucks.

do what NateR31 and choose to lose it for 3 months instead of driving for 12 months with 1 point.

3 months is better than losing it for 6 months and don't try n kid yourself, you WILL lose that point within the 12 months.

i should've done that aswell, i would've already had my license back months ago with full points. instead i chose to keep driving with 1 point then lost 6 points.

your choice but i'm telling ya there is no way you can go 12 months without losing a single point. you'll keep driving for a few months but eventually you'll get done.

yer i would, but i have to relie on my car to get to work everyday and thats 1 - 1/12 hours away! i need to drive to =(

ill just pray for the best but i do agree with you, have you seen the secret? ill just think positive haha

you should be more aware of cop cars and cameras around you, especially if your doing the wrong thing;) there is no excuse for letting a cop car get up behind you and match your speed when your doing 15 over the limit, how did you not notice them!?

I got lots of tickets when I first got my car, lost 9 points in the space of 2 months... been clean for the last 3 years and now have all my points back... just get used to driving like an old lady and stay out of the right lane!

Nah, she was in an undercover car, didn’t even have aerials and she wasn’t in uniform.

I was overtaking cars that wore slow in the left hand lane like normal.

And yer the others wore mistakes, after the red light one I never go in the intersection and turn if there’s a wait and a red light camera.

    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
    • Place the new daughterboard in the case and mount it using the 3 small black rivets provided, and reconnect the 3 factory ribbon cables to the new board Then, use the 3 piggyback cables from the daughterboard into the factory board on top (there are stand offs in the case to keep them apart. and remember to reconnect the antenna and rear cover fan wires. 1 screw to hold the motherboard in place. Before closing the case, make a hole in the sticker covering a hole in the case and run the cable for the android unit into the plug there. The video forgot this step, so did I, so will you probably. Then redo the 4 screws on back, 2 each top and bottom, 3 each side and put the 2 brackets back on.....all ready to go and not that tricky really.
    • Onto the android unit. You need to remove the top screen because there is a daughterboard to put inside the case. Each side vent pops out from clips; start at the bottom and carefully remove upwards (use a trim remover tool to avoid breaking anything). Then the lower screen and controls come out, 4 screws, a couple of clips (including 3 flimsy ones at the top) and 3 plugs on the rear. Then the upper screen, 4 screws and a bunch of plugs and she is out. From there, remove the mounting brackets (2 screws each), 4 screws on the rear, 2 screws top and bottom and 3 screws holding in the small plates on each side. When you remove the back cover (tight fit), watch out for the power cable for the fan, I removed it so I could put the back aside. The mainboard is held in by 1 screw in the middle, 1 aerial at the top and 3 ribbon cables. If you've ever done any laptop stuff the ribbon cables are OK to work with, just pop up the retainer and they slide out. If you are not familiar just grab a 12 year old from an iphone factory, they will know how it works The case should now look like this:
    • Switching the console was tricky. First there were 6 screws to remove, and also the little adapter loom and its screws had to come out. Also don't forget to remove the 2 screws holding the central locking receiver. Then there are 4 clips on either side....these were very tight in this case and needed careful persuading with a long flat screw driver....some force required but not enough to break them...this was probably the fiddliest part of the whole job. In my case I needed both the wiring loom and the central locking receiver module to swap across to the new one. That was it for the console, so "assembly is the reverse of disassembly"
    • But first....while I was there, I also swapped across the centre console box for the other style where the AV inputs don't intrude into the (very limited !) space.  Part# was 96926-4GA0A, 284H3-4GA0B, 284H3-4GA0A. (I've already swapped the top 12v socket for a USB bulkhead in this pic, it fit the hole without modification:) Comparison of the 2: Basically to do the console you need to remove the DS and PS side console trim (they slide up and back, held in by clips only) Then remove the back half of the console top trim with the cupholders, pops up, all clips again but be careful at the front as it is pretty flimsy. Then slide the shifter boot down, remove the spring clip, loose it forever somewhere in the car the pull the shift knob off. Remove the tiny plastic piece on DS near "P" and use something thin and long (most screwdrivers won't fit) to push down the interlock and put the shifter down in D for space. There is one screw at the front, then the shifter surround and ashtray lift up. There are 3 or 4 plugs underneath and it is off. Next is the rear cover of the centre console; you need to open the console lid, pop off the trim covering the lid hinge and undo the 2rd screw from the driver's side (the rest all need to come out later so you can do them all now and remove the lid) Then the rear cover unclips (6 clips), start at the top with a trim tool pulling backwards. Once it is off there are 2 screws facing rearwards to remove (need a short phillips for these) and you are done with the rear of the console. There are 4 plugs at the A/V box to unclip Then there are 2 screws at the front of the console, and 2 clips (pull up and back) and the console will come out.
