yeah, i hear you... but thats what you get if you want good quality, and a metal badge.. these will be cheaper for 20 or 40 or even more, so 135 is the base price for one.. my aim is to get these cheaper for all of us, im going to take a guess of around 90 ish dollars for maby 30 or more... some silly ebay chrome badges go for $30... does any one know what the price would be or a original gtr from nissan?

Yeah, definitely man. I hear ya. I was just thinking, you know how in asia, how once you get the mold made, producing them is cheap as.

Last time my friend was over in china, you could buy gtr badges (look exactly like the orginal one) for about AU$3.

But yeah, i'll be waiting keenly to see what the final price is :D

yeah, i so know what you mean... just if we can steal this mould..heheh.. we could have them for 3$. that would be awesome.. :) . do you think if i took my badge to a cutter it may turn out cheap for us all?

Please read the rules for the Group Buy section and update your first post with all the required information otherwise this thread will be closed.

Thank you

now one wants to buy gts badges?. there abit of cash, but, look perfect.. and are originaly made and from the uk, thus being why the exchange rate is so much..

quality is great.. you can always buy another after the first group buy.. at least this way every one will get them cheaper to see what they think.. but they are very good

hey,, hmm, i thought that at first, but i think it may be the pictures.. andy spent a while trying to measure out the difference from a r to a s... the R is extra fat on a real metal gtr badge.. ill post a pic up of a real gtr badge if ppl need to see the difference.. hope that helps...

Br3TT. should i put you down for one?

FYI... The difficulty I have had with these badges were firstly the measurements as I needed them to fit onto a GTR style grill and the only way of doing that was with the measurements of 6 cm X 4.5 cm. Also you can design the best thing in the world ever, but there is always going to be some who dont like it, thats just human nature you cant please all of the people all of the time.

Also please remember that the cost is simply due to the high exchange rate between the UK £ and Aus $. This as I am sure you can appreciate is nothing I can do anything about.

This is the current exchange rate

This is a link to a GTR badge on ebay, you will see that the starting price is GBP £40 and although its a reasonable picture there is no scale, so someone could ask him the measurements

    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
    • I'd say it's a fair bet that the feed and return fluid lines will be in different enough spots that you would need to come up with a way to cut the originals short and adapt with new hard line adaption or braided teflon hoses or somesuch. But really, you have the car, you have the photos of the DMAX rack - you should be able to go out there and see for yourself whether they're in the same or different spots.
    • I've been doing some looking around and honestly was just considering throwing a new rack at it. I saw that the dmax silvia rack bolts up into the 33 with the silvia bushings but not sure if the high pressure lines will sit in the correct spot. I believe other version of the 33 rack are the same/similar to the racks that can be opened up without as much fuss so I assume the dmax rack would fit but any ideas?
    • I've never played with one, but I would expect that you are correct. That slot looks like it is intended to be used to unscrew the end, and the flats on the body would be better than grabbing it around the round bit with a pipe wrench. So, yeah, probably unscrews. You'll probably have to make a tool to drive in that slot.
