dmr
hey guys i wanted to know if there's any information/diy about putting a pod filter inside the airbox? i don't want to go ahead and start cutting away incase i stuff up the airbox. sorry if there's already another thread about this, i've tried searching already. cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/176284-pod-inside-airbox/ Share on other sites
TurboX
Why bother? Just get a decent filter for it and modify the triangular intake so its able to flow more as well as getting rid of all the plastic ducting crap behind the headlight. Still looks legal and is legal as legal modified can be. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/176284-pod-inside-airbox/#findComment-3225787 Share on other sites
MANWHORE
why would you bother. If you're going to chop up an airbox to put the pod inside - what's the point? pod is for less restriction. If you're trying to hide it inside the box, just use the box with a decent air filter? what you're thinking won't be advantageous to you at all Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/176284-pod-inside-airbox/#findComment-3225789 Share on other sites
dmr
hmm yeah thats true, but i like the whistle and wanker woosh that the pod gives! just thought it would be a good idea as it would be less prone to heat as the pod by itself. i would get a pod cover but i have a fmic.. damn laws. Ronin 09
I'm with everyone else. highflow panel in std box is fine. forego the noise, it will get you pulled over sooner or later and you'll be farked. MANWHORE
Well, there's no problem liking the noise. I like it too. But think about what you're doing. Why is the stock airbox quite? because it muffles. If you put a muffler over the pod, will it make more noise? not really. How much noise it makes will depend on how much of the box is left. you may as well just use the airbox and modify the lid so that it doesn't muffle as much Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/176284-pod-inside-airbox/#findComment-3225882 Share on other sites
dmr
yeah, you guys have a valid point. i put the airbox back on. i'll get a bov later down the track if i feel like some wanker spec haha. thanks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/176284-pod-inside-airbox/#findComment-3226013 Share on other sites
abu
yeah, you guys have a valid point. i put the airbox back on.i'll get a bov later down the track if i feel like some wanker spec haha. thanks Even the stock BOV is fine man. There are people running up to 19psi, last time I read, on the stock RB20DET BOV and its fine. Dont waste your money, spend it something more useful! Just my thoughts. Thanks, Abu Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/176284-pod-inside-airbox/#findComment-3226384 Share on other sites
limpus
You can fit some of the smaller pods like the Apexi power intake into a r32 airbox...i have done it...you'll have to butcher the airbox abit though...with the pod hidden inside you won't get problems from the cops...its still quite quiet but thats good because i don't really care much about the wank factor...the thing is i can remove the airbox cover when i head onto the track so it works well for me....
