i think he means the AVX11 on Ebay, it's round $600 i think, or the AVX33 it's round $800, of course no warranty in the country if you buy from the US, but i guess it beats paying $1200 in NZ for teh AVX11 and $1800 for the AVX33 :S

Does anyone know what a alpine iva-0300e dvd player is worth, its single din and touch screen, cuz apparently it was 'very expensive' but i did a quick search and didn't think they were that dear. (It came with the car, with all alpine R gear)

i got ebay one got it installed running soundstream splits and rears off it sounds sweet looks great amps and subs soon to come. Its display is very good once running the speakers off the amps it wont really matter if it says JVC pioneer or EBAY BRAND. And it doesnt cost a grand.

Honestly, for the cheap price they are now, I reckon you can't go wrong. Seriously, nowadays, they're 250-300 at max.

Back about 6 months, they used to be 5-600. For 250-300, you can't go wrong. Even a mid range pioneer headunit costs around that at strathfield.

tyaos, not sure what you were saying there. What I meant by you can't go wrong, is that as I said, even a normal headunit (music only) costs around 250+. also, even pioneer etc single din (although they're way better quality) are 1k+. Therefore, for 250, at <1/5 the cost, you can't go wrong - even if it breaks, you can buy another 5 of them for the price

if you want a good dvd touchscreen double din headunit, buy my pioneer AVH6850. its rrp is like 2200 and best price ive seen aorund is like $1700 through JB. get it off me instead for a fraction of the cost coz im working on suspension bits now instead so need the dosh :D btw steer clear from those ebay ones. whats the point of going through 5 decks and 5 times the hassel when you can do it right the first time around. just like playing in the engine bay, put your money in the right place the first time around or u can b blowing out alot more to fix it up later on..

whats the fasination with the number 5 who says one from ebay wont last 5 years. Seriously like 1500-2000$ dvd units from the top name brand all cost the same price to manufacture give or take a little bit so dont kid yourself. You can buy a rolex in bali with the battery that charges itself of your movements for 30 bucks but of corse it isnt a rolex but they can still put that technology in it for like fraction of the cost. make you wonder how can these "big names" charge so much for there product. Anyway the ebay one will work fine just a matter of if you want to be cool and spend 2000 on a pioneer head unit just so you can say ohh mate i have a 2k headunit or you can just spend 350 and be happy because it does all that the pioneer unit does and more. not sure about the output of the pioneer one but who cares i would rather save 1000 bucks

    • The final part arrived today to un-clampify and simplify the intake Who would have though a 1/2" hose stainless bulkhead fitting designed for below waterline bilge pumps would be what I needed Test fit on a 3" offcut I had laying around to see if it would work, and it worked a treat All going well the intake will be on its "final version" tomorrow
    • Good luck on the weekend mate
    • Must have been an absolute nightmare to drive when the power steer was out, the rack ratio/wheel size/caster is all set up for power assistance
    • Welcome to SAU, what are you looking at buying?
    • I checked the injectors again (1 and 2, since they’re easiest to access) to make sure they weren’t clogged. Even though the entire fuel system had been cleaned, I wanted to be certain. Everything looked clean, so I reinstalled and connected everything. When I started the car to confirm everything was okay, it immediately revved up high, so I shut it off straight away. I checked to see if I’d missed a vacuum hose or something, but everything was connected. On the second attempt, the car ran without the high idle, but I noticed a distinct “compressed air” sound coming from the engine bay. Tracing the sound, I pushed injector #6 forward slightly and the noise stopped — it turned out it wasn’t seated properly, despite the fuel rail being bolted down. While holding it in place, the car idled steadily without stalling and ran for over 5 minutes. At this point, I pulled all six injectors out just in case I hadn’t seated them correctly or dirt had gotten onto the O-rings. Unfortunately, I discovered that I had damaged 3 out of 6 injectors (the OEM 270cc ones) during installation. So yes, this was my fault. Since only the pintle caps were damaged, I’ve ordered a Fuel Injector Service Kit from NZEFI to refurbish them. In the meantime, I reinstalled my new injectors – the car now idles fine for over 15 minutes without stalling. I have not attempted to drive it so far. It’s not perfect yet, as it hesitates when the throttle is pressed, but it’s a big improvement. Unplugging the IACV with the new injectors idles at around 800rpm, even with the IACV screw tightened fully. But this is probably due to tune.
