i saw the movie, wasnt really that impressed with it. Its a little to fake for me. Its like there driving at 120 mph and can slide around a 90 degree corner. And as if you would even think about bumping someone during a race with those sorts of cars.

and i was tired of hearing the word bro all the time

and the colored flames out the pack, ppppft

and tell me any of those people would really be able to afford any of those cars. (if they werent movie stars)...

the girls were good though!

Didn't like the show. The generic drug dealer sting has been over done..... Toooooo much rice to trick people into thinking all the cars are legit 10s.

The first movie was sick, got my heart pumpin in the first drag----

Left the cinema this time real disappointed........

My 2 cents

other than the spark plug rig, you can't get away with constant flames unless you have no cat.

If you have no cat, then you might as well just shorten the exhaust and plumb it to the passenger side.

The taka kaira fuel limiter burns off excess fuel when you hit redline so u don't fubar your engine. Its an actual race tech with a lil rice value for show, but if you have a cat it'll melt your insides.

As for coloured flames, in yr 12 chem I remember if you put sulphuric gases intot hepath of a naked flame the flame turns orange, if you put chloric gasses it turns green etc. I'd imagine after the muffler there'd be an ignition plug, and an injector which feeds these gases as well.

the cars have 'stupid nerd factor', I get tired of explaining nitrous oxide to people after they watch fnf.nothing like fnf to provide tuners with an endless source of people to laugh at and make money from when they ask for things they saw on fnf.

Ive thought about that too. You could have all sorts of flames coming out of ur exhaust. Add salt get cool red flames. add little chucks of magnesium and have sparkling mega bright white flames. Add a few different chems and have a whole rainbow firing out the back of ur skyline!! :bahaha:

you all know you'd all give anything to bend the lead chix over that pink s2000 and inquire as to "who's ya daddy?" anyday.

I say watch it with an open mind, be one with the inner ricer. Experience it in the movie, let it out...

That way when you come out of it your inner ricer has been driven to insanity and no longer exists and your inner power pimp is unleashed...

hmmm das sum good weed.

the reason that r34 does not look as fat is not because of the graphics....its because its an atmo!! i was watchin flyTV the other morning, and they had an interview with 'Brian' a quick glance under the bonnet of one of the Supras revealed an engine that was all polished up and everything, but...no turbo, intake pipe went straight to the throttle body. besides, do u think they would pay that much money for an R34 GT-R Vspec II, when they are gonna blow it up eventually and people wouldnt have a clue whether its a GTR anyway...even they are not that stupid.

if u want flames, take out ur cat. leave the fake american stuff for the Lancers and Mirages... Skylines dont need any trickery.

cheers

Linton

Hey Ya'll

My fave bit of stupidity in that movie is when the show the accelleration factor, and they fake for ever to accellerate, and the continually change gears...

i love it when they stuff up the editing.. they won't win any awards for the Editor.... They show the "footwork" when Paul Walker changes gears in the GTR, and thats kool, you see the GTR logo on the pedals... then in the EVO VII they show the EXACT same gear change... GTR pedals and all....

Overall, its an OK movie... better than the first, l;ess crap than the first (the first movie - the 1 mile races take 2 mins....)

the r34 is a gtr...i have just seen photos when they were preping it..the guards are fat as anything...also an idea for the scene when they crashed it they used a gtt or something.seen inside the cabin and all the dash and screens work with all details like a gtr.

    • Put a fuel pressure gauge on it. Replace the turbos. Probably completely separate issues.
    • What copper washer do you guys use on the bleeder bolts? The existing one I have I had no idea where to find it in a local store, I did buy some online but that are only 1mm thick whereas my old one is 2mm+ thick and when I put the new washer out and squeeze the top radiator hose I can hear a bit of air but not with the old one. Does this matter? The new one doesn't leak, but the inner diameter is a bit loose whereas the old one threads on the bolt.
    • Howdy all, after being out a few weeks ago on a spirited drive in my GTR I have 2 issues that oddly have appeared at the same time. Whilst accelerating quickly through the gears all of a sudden i’ve lost power at the top of third gear (below redline around 6000rpm) for no obvious reason.    From that point onwards the car has been running rich on idle, won’t really rev under load without a ton of black smoke and the odd backfire, and dying as a pull up to a set of lights unless I keep the revs up around 1500rpm. In addition when shutting down the car that same night (I was 10 minutes from home) I noticed one of the turbos was significantly noisy on wind down when shutting off the engine. After letting the car cool down overnight it starts up fine, although once it gets to temp the revs start to creep up and down, the exhaust is darker than it should be and it also sounds like it’s running rich (fat note) I’ve put a new set of plugs in it - no change, the old plugs all seemed OK with two of them being somewhat richer/fueled up than the other 3 with 1 being borderline. I’ve smoked tested the intake system via the front of the Turbos, found a split vacuum hose going to the factory boost gauge sender, which I have since replaced.  Also found another leak on the gasket coming off the rear turbo outlet, have also replaced this. After fixing both of these leaks - still have the running rich issue. I’ve also tried another pair of AFM’s - no change here After pulling off the front turbo intake pipes, there is obvious shaft play in the front turbo, which now hisses loudly on light revvs although I can’t see why this would make the car run funny even under idle. I’m curious to know why it’s running rich before I potentially replace/rebuild turbos. The car is completely stock <50,000kms  other than an exhaust. Oil and coolant are all clear. I haven’t bothered with coil packs as it looks like they won’t be the issue due to condition of the plugs. Any help appreciated as I cry myself to sleep!
    • No probs at all. I used to love trying to dig up obscure info for those in need where possible going back 20+ years on SAU.  I did have another look and couldn't come up with any closer match. I'm leaning towards those skirts in your first pic are custom fitments, cut down/extended or from another car entirely and modded to fit an R34 sedan. I would've thought someone in Japan had them and taken a photo at some stage over the last 2 decades but there's nothing. Someone out there must know surely.
