nah, it's just more convenient. no passengers allowed on track anyway, plus with passenger seat out my race box fits neatly in the space. i just put it in after track use. takes about 3 mins tops.

ahh cool nice...

Thanks Richard!

I'll return the supercheap one on the weekend or thursday!

Guys: Postage on that firstaids side is "'$16.50" for 1 and when I put in quantity as 2 it's the same :(

Maybe I could email them and ask for a group buy?

any 1kg extinguisher is not up to the task if ur car is on fire its only design to reduce the initial fire before assistance arrives. if ur driving till the point of overheating/fire (this is why u look at your gauges) or havent done the checks before a tack day is more important than anything else. as far as i know many guys dont even have heatshield's on their manifold/turbo/dump etc etc when those are the biggest fire hazard.

its the same chemical compressed to the required pressure and 1 valve. all the same shit if u ask me.

yes spend the extra $20 for peace of mind i can understand, but when it comes from supercheap, they wouldnt be allowed to sell it if IT didnt met standards.

dont be too quick to based price on quality.

where are the bfi ones made anyways?

there are big differences between so called 1kg extinguishers. some contain only around 500gm of chemical, some contain over double that. they are all rated though.

what's the rating on the supercheap one?

is that one of the foam bomb type extinguishers used in open wheelers? and looks externally activated (or atleast one trigger near the dash)

Yer craved thats correct is a 4kg unit with 6 spray nossles and 2 pull cables one for me in the driverseat and one on the right hand side front wing

they are an awesome setup, havent seen them used much in sedans though. worth it for sure

We have to run to FIA requirements and this is the requirement :-) 3 sprays inside and 3 under the hood. was only about 330$ so not to bad

Richard do you trust those those two small bolts in the bracket to hold the extinguisher back from flying off and getting you in the legs when you have a high speed off/stop?

Not sure what force is generated by a lkg+ mass when you do a Radisich Bathurst 06 into the wall but it's a lot.

They may be more than enough but just thought I'd put the question.

Cheers

yeah they should be fine. it's not on the drivers side of the car and i have been backwards into the wall before and it didn't budge. for sure they are not massive, but the extinguisher is very light, 2kg total weight. granted I wouldn't want it flying at my head though. not much option to fit any bigger ones sadly. :D

    • Hi. Yeah thanks. Car is already at tuners and it staying there to resolve "many" issues they do not like. So it is in a good hands. Getting a good tune on that Nistune ECU too so the car would be good. Just needs a little tune up and love.
    • Probably gonna remove manifold and turbo. I’m not sure if I can get M12 x 1.5 air tight. Could use high temp Loctite 246 or something similar, but I don’t know. Maybe it’s just best to remove everything again and weld an 1/8NPT on there instead.
    • Yeah, saw the ratios, not impressed. Would like the punch I have in the first gears now. With those ratios it won't be the same.  Also want the h pattern gearing, or at least a quiet gear set that don't need to come apart for service each year. Looks like the only "reasonable" way Is a 8hp70 transmission, but where is the fun in that🤷‍♂️
    • Hey mate, really appreciate the help. Have been looking pretty extensively myself and was certain they were retro fitted, but then ended up finding a 4 door with what looks like the same side skirts or at least the closest I’ve seen. • Isn't there a PAR engineering gearset that has closer to stock ratios? And they claim they'll do whatever ratios you want.
