not sure if this is the right section, but basically i want to get some nice globes for my headlights.

i want to get a sort of blue colour for headlights and parkers. i am not after the little blue neons ppl put in there parkers, but i think they are the ones that have a higher wattage.

i am really in the dark about the different types of colours available. but all i know is that i am chasing my headlights to emit a cool blue colour. if any one has any pixs and suggestions it would be much appreiciated.

also its for a S2 skyline

cheers

hay mate

personally i think that you should stick to the standard one from nissan,i went an bought a 100w globes for my high beam an they turned out to be

sh't, no were near as bright as the standard one an twice the cost

i'v been told that any globs that are coloured are not going to be very bright but they look good

:D you insane 100w globes? I hope you mean 55w because 100w can melt your headlight casing! suppose it would depend on the type of headlight setup but most HID to Halogen take 55w!

Neways moving along

Polarg are best ..

Phillips Diamond vision if you wanna pay more but they come with parkers too ;)

I too bought new lights from repco etc .. $60 or something .. Total crap one blew within a month second in 3 months .. when i replaced the one that blew with the old one which i removed to install the repco crap they look exactly the same :D

I went and bought new HID headlights after that .. extreme yes .. but eh

Don't go with the higher wattage globes. You'll risk melting the headlight housing.

If you want the blue parker and globes, have a look on ebay. They've got all different types of colours.

In my opinion, just stay with the standard colour. Just get some decent quality Phillip's globes.

you better stick with genuine standard yellow light unless buy HID kit...

i bought globes and parkers from ebay. the parkers are great. but the light isnt bright enough.. its very hard to see at night without other lights such as street light or something... its like nothings infront of you you cant see your lights...

and they dead after 1month.. just go HID kit if you really want bright and blue colour..

Hey mate i have Phillips diamond vision in my s2 and they work fine. if you want a globe with a blue tinge, dont go any other the other lower priced ones in the phillips range as they dont seem to look that different from stock. The diamond vision arn't that expensive from memory - you dont get parkers with them either - at least i didn't. I payed under 100 but was a while ago and i cant remember exactly.

As for the parkers what you want is just white spade bit led's. the white led will come up slightly blue and works well with the diamond vision headlamp which will give you the bright white / blue glow. Do not get blue led's or blue style bulbs for parkers as they will actually look dark blue and very cr#p My only thing now is to change the fog / driving lights to a whiter bulb as the headlamps are are bright blue white which makes the fogs look real yellow.

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
