Not sure what the book says, but bear in mind, I have an RB26, BIG fmic(heavy), Leather interior (heavy), HUGE brakes (very heavy), manual (light), and no sunroofs (light), so I had no idea what to expect. I weighed the car as I drive it: a small amount of odds and ends in it, spare on board, cargo mat, full tank, etc, and it came up at 1700kg neat (to the nearest 10kg). Unfortunately I could only talk the lady into an overall weight for no money down, so I'll go back with cash at a later date and get the front:rear weights as well.

This may or may not be news, but I found it interesting is all... :)

Yeah, they're not light.

I took some junk to the tip (or Waste Management Centre, as they call them now) and on the way out it weighed 1735kg. That was with myself (about 65kg) and 1/3 tank of juice. Which I guess would take it down to about 1650kg tare.

But hey, XR6 Turbos are like 1800kg, so not so bad really.

It would be over 1800kg with a couple of people in it.

But normally its kerb weight thats listed in car specs, which is 1658kg for my S2 RS4. Not sure what it is for the autech.

Stageas are not heavy compared to SUV's and are fairly similar in weight to other wagons of the same size.

The one on Powers Rd in Seven Hills, Phil? I live right near that. Lucky for me we never smell anything.

My rego papers list my car as 1658kgs.

Yep, and I've got one of each. The XR6T has more mid range torque and beautiful suspension and ride quality, but I enjoy the extra spread of revs, the practicality and the "WTF is that" reaction that the Stagea provides.

Same here.I have a XR6T ute and i weighed it at 1900kg with me in it.My mates XR6T sedan weighed in at 1870kg with him in it as well.Lucky we have 300+rwkw to get them moving :D

Even though many write them off as a land barge when you compare them to the competition (instead of S13's and Skylines which isn't a fair comparision) they do come in under or close to most others out there (mind you I woldn't have expected a XR6T ute to weigh 1800)

Heavier chassis so they can carry a ton(not like a holden ute) and leaf spring rear end with solid diff housing.

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
