Is anyone willing to sell their centre climate control/stereo surround? I filed mine back a few weeks ago in an attempt to get my 3-gauge DIN cluster in there, and I really regret it...

If you have a look in the photo, you'll see that the section around where I've now moved my head unit has a gap on either side, and I'd really like to replace it to also add a bit more security so the stereo can't be pulled out of its chassis... At the moment it's not too hard to get to the two little "hooks" that hold it in place on either side.

So, anyone who has replaced their surround with a carbon fibre or wood-grain looking one (Mike?), please let me know if you're willing to let the old one go.

Thanks in advance!

Nick T.

if you cable tie the head unit from the back that may solve your security concerns.

filling in the sides should be possible with a little lateral thinking.

Yeah, I might do that for the time being, Andrew. Thanks for that.

just found this on yahoo if your keen http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k48111575

Cool, thanks Bryce

I'm going to scan the local wreckers (JustJap, the Toy Shop, etc.) and see if they have any, and if not then I'll get someone to order me one through Yahoo JP.

I don't suppose you would settle for a wood grain one? LOL!

No thanks Dale, I'm not a fan of the woodgrain look.

There are some cars that it suits, but it really depends on the wood they use (or copy, if it's plasti-wood), and how and where they use it...

    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
