just becareful with HBF, they say agreed value now, but in a years time when its time to renew, they will tell you that the market value has dropped considerably (which it already has) and they will drop your agreed value. Which doesn't make it agreed anymore..more like market value :nyaanyaa:

I'm with Shannons, like I said, pay $982 per year, agreed value $20,000 with mods, payments are taken over 12 months without raising the annual premium, I could get a new windscreen every year if I wanted.

What I like about Shannons is my choice of repairer... now up until last week, I really didn't understand how that works..

For those that don't know... I go to any repairer I want, get a quote, Shannons then come and assess the damage against the quote and if its a fair quote, it gets fixed. I think that is great. Shannons will come out to where ever my car is, whether I'm at work or home.

The process of making a claim is easy and without hassle....no need to claim through someone else's insurance, when its not your fault.

all late model cars will depreciate. agreed value term is "they agree to insure that amount for the 12 months" - 12 months time - it will be reassessed. unless you have an LJ GTR XU1 which will earn you money!! :D

sorry but this is kinda helpless unless you are doing a comparison for yourself! (your risk is different to anyone elses so everyones premiums will be different)

however good stuff on helping out with who and who doesnt insure them :D

Well i foned just car today for an inshurance qoute full comprehensive this time not just 3rd party fire and theft (which i still have currently with JC). there reply was ok check your details yep 2 claims and 2 suspentions iin the last 3 years. with all your mods front mount, computer, exsahust, arlarm, stereo, and body kit. we will inshure your stereo for what it is worth but in the event of theft or accident we will pay half of it's value. we won't inshure your rims and tyres. ypour total yearly premium is $3200 your excess is $3000 if your at fault extra $400 if your stereo is missing or broken. and if it is not your fault it will cost you $1000 excess. oh and wait i will find out the value of your car. taking into account recent repairs from an accedent yep it's worth $16000.

my reply to them

What the F*#K is going on there my car is a serries 2 manual and what wll happen in the event of anccedent, i mean i just repaired it and it cost me 16 so your telling me if i have a simillar accedent what then. We will write your car off sir. what the hell would i do with a wroten off car, or no it goes to auction and you get your (measly) $16000. well i can't regester a written off car can i. i think i will just keep paying my $600 per year and stay where i am it will be cheaper.

I mean what a joke inshurance is they can go jam it fair up there F...... A....

aren't they ment to inshure what you want to pay for nad what happened to agreed value what a wrought :D .

I have insured my S2 Stagea through DGA 4wd insurance with a page of mods and windscreen cover for $460 dollars per year full comp.

Have a look at this company. I have claimed one windscreen so far and was easy as pie to deal with. They have prefered repairer, but you can choose your own at request.

I am 30yo and rating one though. But still this is a bargain. You may only insure if you have AWD. This is enough to qualify as they are strictly 4WD insurers only........i even get covered for going off road.

Yeah like im going to do that LOL.

    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
    • Saw this replica police car based on a Mitsubishi Starion XX parked next to a 'police box' (it's literally a box) in Hirohata, Himeji City in Hyogo prefecture the other day. It's owned by Morii-san who is a local Mitsubishi Starion enthusiast. According to a local radio station blog post, he always wanted to make a police car himself based on ones he saw in his favourite Manga comics.  As it's illegal to modify a car to look like a police car and drive on the road, Morii-san tried many times to get permission from Aboshi police station headquarters nearby. They refused initially by after they got tired of that they granted him permission. However, the car can only be displayed on private property and obviously can't be registered as long as the police livery is present. The car was completed at a cost of 1.5 million yen (US$ 10,000) in addition to the car cost. A location was chosen outside Hirohata Police box where the car can easily been seen from the street. Morii-san has two other Starion road cars, both widebody GSR-VRs.
