yeah im not going now also :D have to decide do i goto dyno day or bring daughter home and to bed so i can take her to the royal show again and see the fire works

me thinks take her twice her mum will only take her once :D gooooo dad :(

hahaha... Not only the box but the clutch flares also. :D

You going to get the muppet bus on the rollers Darren?

I seriously looked in to an auto conversion for a little there, MV had an auto for $350 + 220 for full manual $300 something for shift kit.

UNTIL...

I stumbled upon an Rb25 5speed out of a crashed series 2 gtst for $950 with tail shaft included.

I had to rip the box out which was a nightmare due to the tunnel being compressed slightly. The box is in perfect nick; so I will be staying with manual and having some fun with the car around Mallala AND the drags once/when it opens back up.

Keen to go halves in a pair of slicks when the time comes Darren? :D

yep more then keen.

and yes i will be there.

But we will need to have a set each to run each other,

unless your happy running on street tyres.

Each have a run with street tyres. See who gets whooped worse. :)

2 slicks aren't too expensive anyway.

BIG thanks to Madaz for popping around and giving me a hand to get that damn box out!!!!!!!

hahah.

As long as you don't do something silly like bolt on a water/meth injection kit I think it will be close..... for you. hahah :)

im guessing by that you have a WM kit on its way?

Me Silly?

what should i bring to the dyno day?

my wifes skyline or my atv?

cant bring both, and i would find it rather amusing my quad having more power then some of the cars there.

hahaha... Not only the box but the clutch flares also. :)

Yokes can be picked up for ~$110.

Haven't sorted the tail shaft mod yet.

Just sorted the speedo drive and will be dropping the diff ratio down again to help prevent wheel spin in the first 2 gears.

Prior when I ran the 4.08 ratio second gear felt lazy as there wasn't quite enough balls; first felt great much more usable; now third has issues depending on road surface and how hard/quick I flatten it. So I think the 4.08 will be welcomed, if not more boost. ;)

I am running 225's though so thats to be expected; but the 225's do hook a little better than a mates set of 245/40/18 Nankang NS2's.

Peoples...

Anyone that registers for entry before the event will get to dyno for $35.

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
