New Power Fc Running On 4-5clyinders Help

Hi i recently purchased an apexi power fc for my series 1 r33 its brand new with hand controller i set it up as per the manual that came with it, when i start the car it starts and idles very roughly and it only running on 4 maybe 5 cylinders and is poring bulk fuel into it (all i can smell is fuel) from the exhst. I put the same ecu into my mates car a ser 2 and it runs perfect i can not work out whats going on anyone got any ideas?

hey man, i had similar probs with mine n it was just the connections on the loom plug bolting to computer, wasnt 100% straight, the reason your smelling fuel is because its not being burnt by 1 or 2 of the cyls so is going into exhaust, try take plug off and retighten it and make sure its on straight to eliminate that...cheers and good luck

is the engine check light (orange) on when you have the problem?

have you performed the self idle learn procedure properly ?

I think it was version 5 for rb25det

nothing high lighted in sw check

engine light was on at first due to boost control on turned it off no light

the light is off when its running i did the idle self learn properly

car just runs on 4 cyl runs perfect on mates ser 2.

smell the ecu

and open it up, look for burnt tracks or components

i cant see any logical reason it wouldnt work on the FC and would on the stock ecu

Check the plug again and make sure the bolt bottoms out. All bets are on the plug not being 100% true and in as with some cars the bolt can be very stiff to do up making you think its done all the way up but its not. Tripple check.

mine was having a fit because the loom plug wasn't tight enough. I tightened it about 5 times before it bottomed out.

Tighten it RIGHT UP lol

Thats was it need to tighten the plug stupidly tight working good now thanks.
