i was just flicking through the demerit points scheme and found the fines for driving a high powered vehicle on your p's. 3 points and $225.

the same fine also applies to breaking the late night law and the peer passenger law.

the can be found on page 14 of this

http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/resources/...nt_offences.pdf

so don't say you haven't been warned

i keep hearing new stories about how people plan to beat the system. haven't heard one that sounds like it will work yet.

so glad i'm not on my p's, and as of next week i won't be in the under 25 bracket either. i will be in the 25 AND under bracket though.

*remembers the good old days where driving on your L's unaccompanied would net at worst a $30 fine, no points and a clip round the ear by the local plod for being a scallywag*

hahhahhahaha yeah i do i must be starting to get old :) however there is one good thing about being in the 25+'s age, insurance is much cheaper :P

I see more commodores trying to drift in the wey with P plates now. And the other laws are having negative effects.

Prices of driving instructors have gone up along with log book hours being needed.... So many more parents are teaching their kids to drive, this scares the hell out of me because it's those parents who generally drive like tards as it stands.

And people having a p plate doesn't help matters, all I see is people revving them up at lights because they know if the p plater gets caught they are f**ked. It's bad enough when people do stupid shit around L plates, but around P platers, they are still newbie and worse off because they are alone.

I dont understand the new system and I guess I dont need too...

But imagine the ultimate sleeper, a skyline with P plates that looks like an NA but has like 1000hp :(

People will see the P plate and go, hahah your under 150kw (what ever the limit is) and then they get blown away, would be funny to see... :)

Maby we should wear P plates at the drags just for fun... Or L plates...

if u got caught back in the day on your L's driving alone it was like $30 lol thats a crack up to think where it has gone to now., does that mean this forum is going to die of younger crew, bcoz they cant buy turbo charged skyline's any more?? no young noobs to pick on any more either, what is the world coming to they ruin the forums now aswell. ha ha

I think the fine is $35 now. Its not as high as $120.

*edit#2, we were way off...

"Penalties for displaying L-plates when not a learner driver

The driver will be fined A$10. However, accredited driver trainers and rider trainers may continue to display L-plates on their vehicle after they have finished giving driver training."

*edit, the $120 is for not displaying the L plates.

" All learner licence holders must currently display an L plate on the front and rear of the vehicle

or cop a $120 fine."

i only drove once on my L's without someone else in the car. it wasn't far. anyone that knows gympie will know the car yard at the first set of lights when you come into town near maccas and pizza hut. well my mum worked in the office at the car yard and i was waiting for her to finish work one day and i got hungry so i drove from the carpark out the back to maccas and back. all of about 200m of illegal driving.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
