My first skyline was an auto R34 25GT..absolutely loved it, but the lack of power got to me and I ended up turbocharging it...it got stolen and written off though :)

I'm now selling my second skyline, another auto R34, this one is a GTt...not sure on your situation, but I can highly recommend the GTt over the 25GT.

Personally I love the car, I just need a change after being in an R34 for over 5 years :P

Thanks for the reply~

I have to get an auto non turbo cos my fiance is on P's and can only drive auto.....tired of being her driver so its time that i get driven around haha

tats why im seriously thinking of a R34........I saw a couple of NA R34 4 doors selling arnd 15K...very tempting but i wonder if the NA R34's performance is comparable to my NA 33

lol i got a na r34 auto coz parents drive every once in a blue moon  anyway they are hella fun to drive just get one lol! power is aplenty it is after rb25de, get the 2 door version coz itd be lighter. handles like a genius and get about 500k per tank

no an r34 non turbo does not make 200 kw, it makes about 148 kW at the flywheel but that is new though

when i got my car it was making 101 stock at the wheels

Hello i have a Skyline R34 25GT and i Adore her she is the best car i have owned the old owner done some bad s^%t To her.

But i slowly rebuilding her to her glory its a pi%^ off but i can not leave her as she is.

At a distance you will see nothing Wrong with her but up close i have to Repaint, knock out a dent or two and she be right.

Its a Neo St8 six under the hood with a Hybird Gearing (Tiptronic)

And she is a joy to drive. Hell if i could buy the fuel i will drive to South Aus to say hello and good bye to Miss R34 just for FUN.

P.s I got that skyline for $16,000 dollers.

Hmmm. My RB25 made 115rwkw, with catback exhaust and a pod. I didn't think it would make much difference though?

Does anyone think any internal mods could have been done? I've always wondered this myself, but the previous seller never stated so.

It's only out of an R33 Series 1, so it hasn't even got VCT.

whichever mechanic told you that is full of it

Are you saying all R33's have VCT?

If so I didn't know this... No mechanics told me it, I just read it somewhere... Probably wikipedia or something inaccurate like that. It was a while ago. Hell, I could even be imagining that this is the case.

Maybe previous owner didn't know or was lieing that it came out of an R33.

Is there any visible way I can tell whether it has VCT?

Thanks... :)

Here is my engine:

only the RB25DE (from the R32) didn't come with VCT.

and the only R33 i am 99% sure which doesnt have VCT are the ones equipped with RB20 non turbo motors.

the VCT solenoid plug is on the intake side near cylinder one

  • 3 months later...

Got any more pics?.

I like the photo with the car in your avatar.. care to share it with us?

The N/A R34 is a really good platform. I have the 4 door, which is more unique as you don't see as much but they weight a little more than the 2 dr..

I would be looking at 15k and up for a decent one. Handles really well and looks the part.

At the end of the day it's all down to preference..

x2..

You need all the power you can get with an NA.. and the VVL really gives it a bit more..

    • I was using the wiring diagram I have So 12.74V is coming into the rear Fuel Pump relay as I measured.  When I turn the key to ON im getting 0.6V to the Fuel Pump plug; which i assume is backfeed voltage and doesnt include the 12V from ignition power.  The rear relay is working and being triggered.  From the diagram I clearly see the rear relay 80 = Rear Relay going into the Body/H loom (R-27) 27 = Fuel Pump plug going into the Body/H loom (T-20) 40 = Short Connector (R-27) I'm reading 12.74V on the blue/black wire which is the power for the Fuel Pump   From this diagram I can see the Ignition relay goes into the front and up to the ignition  2 = Fuel Pump Relay <1M> (R-27) 37 = ING Relay <1M> I started from the pump using this reference Which the way I read it (referencing Nissan wiring color codes) is: Pin Wire Color Function 1 B/P (Black/Pink) Ground 2 L/W (Blue/White)        ECU Trigger 3 SB (Sky Blue) Fuel Pump 5 L/B (Blue/Black) 12V Constant Tested SB to SB on Fuel Pump for continuity - confirmed Tested negative on Fuel Pump to 12V battery and L/B - confirmed 12V Pulled the relay putting 12V between Pin 1 & 2 and testing continuity on Pin 3 & 4 - confirmed relay   So that has me looking at this part of the circuit to understand whats happening here...and im still confused. From best I can tell; the disconnect is back to my previous diagram; between Ignition Relay and Fuel Pump Relay...which yet again; afaik is where the immobiliser should.    Thats what I was trying to explain to GTSboy; im not trying to fix it myself; yet I seem to have to get a Masters in Electrical Engineering (while im busy doing my actual job of DevOps & Cloud Engineering) somehow.  I just wanted more expert opinions; or more so that what I tested is correct and proves it to something around that area; to go back to the alarm tech (for a 3rd time) that he needs to fix it. He keeps telling me its not the alarm. He lives on the complete other side of the city so i understand not wanting to make a trip but as I said before if its the alarm it should be up to him to fix it. But he's adament its not; even though I pointed out the FP was immobilised through the original alarm. To my mind; it seems that the ECU is sending the signal; but the ignition is not getting 12V down the line.
    • Maybe also really stiffly sprung track cars. Get the inside wheel up in a corner and all the fun stops. Also me sometimes (rarely) when I have to stand on the brake to convince the diff to drive the wheel that is still on the ground when I'm trying to diagonally get over severe driveway entrance, etc.
    • I feel like I'm missing something. You had an authorised installer come out and install a new alarm. Post install the car doesn't start, and you aren't getting the installer back to fix what they did wrong?
    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
