ewhs
Hi guys, Thinking of changing to an Auto skyline, probably a NA R34 ( 2 or 4 door) Care to share some ownership experiences? =) Any advise on what to look out for? What is a reasonable price for one of these? Thanks Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/181273-looking-to-buy-a-na-r34/ Share on other sites
MissR34
i paid 20 all up for my r34, fresh from japan, but that included getting it converted to manual over in japan. you can get some decent looking one from about 16 upwards Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/181273-looking-to-buy-a-na-r34/#findComment-3294325 Share on other sites
666DAN
My first skyline was an auto R34 25GT..absolutely loved it, but the lack of power got to me and I ended up turbocharging it...it got stolen and written off though I'm now selling my second skyline, another auto R34, this one is a GTt...not sure on your situation, but I can highly recommend the GTt over the 25GT. Personally I love the car, I just need a change after being in an R34 for over 5 years Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/181273-looking-to-buy-a-na-r34/#findComment-3294355 Share on other sites

MissR34
i would think that an r34 n/a power would be roughly the same as a r33 n/a i mean its the same size engine, RB25 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/181273-looking-to-buy-a-na-r34/#findComment-3297090 Share on other sites
R-SPEC
non turbo r34 makes ~200kw thats ~13kw more than a turbo r33 but n/a r34 torque is about the same as a non turbo r33 Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/181273-looking-to-buy-a-na-r34/#findComment-3297108 Share on other sites

Eug
makes about 148 kW at the flywheel but that is new thoughwhen i got my car it was making 101 stock at the wheels that's about right accounting for drivetrain loss. DiNoBoNeS
Hello i have a Skyline R34 25GT and i Adore her she is the best car i have owned the old owner done some bad s^%t To her. But i slowly rebuilding her to her glory its a pi%^ off but i can not leave her as she is. At a distance you will see nothing Wrong with her but up close i have to Repaint, knock out a dent or two and she be right. Its a Neo St8 six under the hood with a Hybird Gearing (Tiptronic) And she is a joy to drive. Hell if i could buy the fuel i will drive to South Aus to say hello and good bye to Miss R34 just for FUN. P.s I got that skyline for $16,000 dollers. My RB25 made 115rwkw, with catback exhaust and a pod. I didn't think it would make much difference though? Does anyone think any internal mods could have been done? I've always wondered this myself, but the previous seller never stated so. It's only out of an R33 Series 1, so it hasn't even got VCT. Brent
whichever mechanic told you that is full of it Are you saying all R33's have VCT? If so I didn't know this... No mechanics told me it, I just read it somewhere... Probably wikipedia or something inaccurate like that. It was a while ago. Hell, I could even be imagining that this is the case. Maybe previous owner didn't know or was lieing that it came out of an R33. Is there any visible way I can tell whether it has VCT? Thanks... Eug
only the RB25DE (from the R32) didn't come with VCT. and the only R33 i am 99% sure which doesnt have VCT are the ones equipped with RB20 non turbo motors. the VCT solenoid plug is on the intake side near cylinder one Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/181273-looking-to-buy-a-na-r34/#findComment-3308896 Share on other sites

kcmagee
The N/A R34 is a really good platform. I have the 4 door, which is more unique as you don't see as much but they weight a little more than the 2 dr.. I would be looking at 15k and up for a decent one. Handles really well and looks the part. At the end of the day it's all down to preference..
