ok no problems because i have heard some scary $$$ figures

well it was $1100 labour for all this + valve shims:

I would like to do a full 100,000km service to it including:

Timing belt, spark plugs, water pump, oil pump, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, flush and replace coolant, all other fluids (clutch, diff, gear box, power steering, HICAS, ATESSA, etc), front engine seals, idle bearing, tensioner bearing, tensioner pulley studs, thermostat, all other belts and anything else you can suggest.

that should give you a ruff idea, not sure if he quoted on teh bearing replacments tho... i'd have to double check the e-mail when i get home

well, why are you considering the upgrade? is there a specific reason for it?

/me is bored at work =(

yer the reaon was way back in the beggining i never ownded an import/turbo always V8s so i thought id give one a try not knowing if id like it as much as my V8s...

But now that i have and LOVED it, ive always wanted a 32 GTR and now i kno that i kno id love them im thinking of selling the S2 33 and getting the 32 GTR....

But i love the power of the s2 so my problem is, whatll be faster a GTR 32 with around 225kws at the wheels or a 260kw GTST 33....

im in the exact same situation....have a perfect 33gtst that was super quick....ran 13 flat with just exhaust, justjap fmic and extra boost...

but wanted more power and was gonna cost way too much with the 33 so selling it and bought a 32 gtr....250kw at the moment, good tune and pfc estimate 280....

Power to weight.. GTR needs around 40rwkw more to have the same up and rolling pace. BUT the gtr does have twins which offer better response so once making decent 300rwkw+ the twins will get up and go quicker in the lower gears; say second gear from a rolling run the twins own!

TWINS FTW!

ok my gtst was responsive king with stock turbo untouched.....so its less responsive....gtst hit 12psi by 2300rpm.....while the gtr hits 14psi by about 4000.....

but when it hits 4000rpm its crazy.....about 210kw at 4000 compared to around 170 in the gtst....

hitting full boost by 2300 is good but redline is 7200 away and acceleration is great....until i drove the gtr.

as soon as the gtrs hit full boost hold on cause excellent acceleration....

Interior of the 32 isn't too bad considering its age. Digital climate control is a step above most standard cars and everything is in an accessible position. Re trimming my car is something always on my mind and plastic fade along with scratched plastics bother me a little bit. I have an 89 so it does feel a little bit dated however I still think it is way better than a 2000 328i or a 1997 Saab 9000 (don't have access to many other cars).

Then again, I hardly pay attention to the interior, more interested in getting my gear changes smooth and feeling the boost ;)

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
