Clunk in the diff/gearbox??? help

I have a noise in the back, i think probably the diff??

I bought the car about 2 weeks ago and have noticed it now..

It's jsut a clunky noise when you let the clutch out when rolling in first...

and a few other times when putting it into gear...

Has anyone had this on there 32???

IS something loose or broken?

Does anyone know??

G'day Scott,

Put it in gear and jump under the car and check for any play in the drive shaft. It shouldn't very much at all.

If it does then it could be one of your yokes have too much play in it, which makes some slack in the drive train.

If not that, it could be a bearing maybe? Not sure.

If it's not the driveshaft yoke thingy, you might be better off taking it to a machanic.

Jack up the arse-end and check for:

slop in the universal joints - driveshaft and halfshafts

slop in the diff.
