Plz Help! Need Rims To Fit Over Brembos That Aren't Over 7.5" Wide

Recommended Posts

hey i live in rockingham and was wondering if someone could help me out i have 34 gtr rims on my 260rs stagea but they are too wide apparently to pass inspection. The problem is i need rims that are legal but still big enough to fit over the brembo calipers 33gtr wheels would be ideal cause i know im prob not gna get stock 260rs wheels so if anyone can help me out i would be very greatful.

cheers

I have some 17x7 rims that may fit. Two of the four tyres are bald though, so if you're really desperate, you can borrow these and get new tyres. Keep looking around tho, hopefully someone has something more appropriate

Try and source a set of 32GTR wheels.

If you have a genuine Stagea 260rs Autech, why can't you pass with the 33GTR wheels, as they are factory fitment. If the inspector doesn't know what Autech is, just explain that Autech is to Nissan, what HSV is to Holden and what FPV is to Ford. Also the tyre placard will show that the car is engineered to have 33GTR wheel.

why are they too wide ?

there is no legal width limitations now according to the traffic act unless they stick out the guards

contact the dpi for conformation coz my gtr is legal with 9" rims on it

according to the ruling a car cannot have a rim width larger then 7" wide, unless it came from factory larger, which in that case they cannot be any larger (ie from factory 8", then no wider is allowed)

nope, that laws abolished in favor of the ADR now, which is as gaz said.

now you can have 1.3x the largest factory option, as long as it doesn't affect track width by more than 25mm, and doesn't protrude from the guards.

so now a car standard rim of 16x8 eg r32gtr can now run 20x10's legally

R33's run 225's stock, so 285's are the largest you can go. :D (made my 275's nice and legal :))

also, the diameter rule is gone too, as long as the rolling diameter doesn't change, you can have whatever you like.

    • You still want a proper tune on the stock ECU though. Stock tune + stock ECU with GT-SS/-9s is probably playing with fire if you're running more than stock airflow/power.

    • There was a great one on Victoria Rd in Gladesville too back in the day. I can only assume GTSBoy is thinking of the mill up on the wollondilly, no restaurant there any more but they have restored the original steam engine on site and run it every few months, have an annual steampunk festival etc @The Bogan, you came to the wrong town for restaurants. we have a few reasonable asian and indian options but the Paragon is as good as it gets otherwise. That brewery is apparently just opened, been meaning to give it a go some time. The Highlands have plenty of fancy options but I suspect you are more a hearty eater than fancy eater
