was wondering if anyone could help me out picking a offset to suit wider guards?

any formulas that u guys use or anything would be great.

basically im thinking about either rolling my guards out, getting wider guards, or even fitting a entire wide bodykit on it.

so i need to know wat offset to use with my wheels.

any help would be great.

Try using that. Just experiment with what offsets you can get your hands on and compare them too your wheels that you have on at the moment. It tells you how much it will stick out or in etc.

thanks adam, although its a bit confusing when ive got 8inch rims atm and im changing it to 10inch, i dont know how it directly affects the offset.

maybe i should get a pro to do it? lol

Easiest way is to start with the wheel specification and then plug it into the calculator, then determine how much more clearance you need.

Generally if you want something like GTR offset rims, you're looking for 9" wide rims with +12 or +22 offset.

you need the following:

size of current wheel (diameter,width):

current wheel's offset:

distance current wheel sits inside guard:

distance bodykit extends guard by from standard body:

camber (don't need this if you haven't changed it from factory):

if you have 18x8 I'm gonna guess your offset is +34 or +35, if you wanted to extend that another 170mm you'll need a pretty f*kin wide wheel unless you resort to spacers. I've got 14" wide with an offset of -60 using that calculator

If you would like to speak to a workshop about rolling/lipping guards, fitting low offset wheels, fitting kits and respray work, contact Primal Garage. They're located in Brooklyn, just down the road from Dr Drift's workshop.

But as other people have said, you need to post more info. If I were you I'd probably just get the guards lipped and flaired, you'll be able to fit at LEAST a 10" wide rim on the rear with +12 offset and 9" on the front with 0 offset, not too sure how wild you can go with a R34 Skyline.

im most likey to get a actual wider body instead of rolling guards. i couldnt possibly roll my guards 170mm each side.

and yes nismo its 170mm each side, its a pretty massive kit im getting.

unfortunately i dont have any pics but expect something insane.

but here are my measurements for my wheels atm

18x8

offset is unknown ....im assuming +35 or something around there. is there anyway of finding out exactly?

ive got pretty much no gap between my wheels and my guards. its around 2-3mm if that.

its not final but the bodykit will increase guards width by around 160-170mm "each" side.

massive kit

i guess what i really need to do is find out exactly how big my guards will pump out then work on wheel offset.

If thats the case then i'd be really interested to see it...do u realise thats an additional 6.9 inches each side...good luck in finding wheels to suit dude...18x12 -20? :(

Kakimoto kit????

we have an original kakimoto and it only runs 13" at the rear and 10" in the front. My BN sports widebody runs 12" at the rear and 10" at the front.

I think its 170mm total, so divide that by two per side. Not even JGTC cars are that wide.

lol...Andru are u telling porkies again??? adding 34cm to the total width of your 34 I worked out...you wouldn't be able to fit in a single garage, normal parking spots and 1/3 of your car would be taken out by traffic if you parked on the side of the road :D

I had 10's on the rear and 9's on the front of my R34 can send photo if you want

    • HPA do an interesting video on tuning, and Adrian shows on the dyno, moving from 10:1 to 12:1 (And I think even 13:1) and the power moves SFA. However, a couple of degrees of timing has a HUGE impact. Exhaust side of things will more be the length of the exhaust and how many bends and turns you have. The straighter you can keep it, the better. By a lot. Oh, and getting the diameter right. Bigger isn't always better. Going to big can actually lose you power.
    • I have to say, most people I see on the road fit the bill of atrocious drivers. Whether they be cowboys in their dual cabs, bogans in the Commodores, or the soccer mums. Pretty much most people on the road put zero freaking thought into driving. Barely look further up the road then the end of their bonnet, and have never even thought about how catastrophically wrong shit can go, by doing what they all deem as normal driving. Especially their late braking, racing to stopped lights, and sitting half a foot off the bumper of the car in front at 110km/h. Wanna know what's even better? By the time their kids get to be old enough to learn to drive, they've already got in the back of their brain what is normal driving, how annoyed you're allowed to get at people etc, and then their parents who actually have zero freaking skill at driving (Even though they constantly say "I've been driving for 20 years and never had an accident!") teach the little twerps how to drive, or should I say, how to make a car move. Literally watched a parent teach their L Plater, on a 4 lane freeway, that you just slam the brakes on, and push your way over, even with a B Double bearing down on you, and that's how you should drive, rather then, just keep going to the next exit. Same shit happens all the time for side streets etc, watching numpties pull dumb shit turns pushing across 3 lanes of traffic, rather than just go up the road another 30 seconds, and take the next turn that'll get you to the same location... Oh, and the damn right lane bandits. Or the retards driving along with their headphones in, and can't hear the ambulance or fire truck right up their ass about to run them over...   Pretty much, people drive on the road, like ego centric f**ks, and don't actually think how dumb shit their driving is, how it could easily kill them or someone else in a split second, or at the very least, how they're driving is contributing to all the shit they're bitching about on the road, like shitty congestion!
