ive seen stockers go for as low as 17k, you might wanna look into having it be sold through a car yard, they add there bit on top but you will get what your after. people seem to be willing to pay more to a car yard lol, obviously thats not an option if its your daily though

bit of an exaggeration, but yes the principle is "buy it cheaper and sell it a little higher". They have to make some sort of profit. They do have to cover costs of advertising, wages, servicing + profit.

If you price it well and it isn't a dog then it will sell no matter what the market is like. There will always be a person looking for a good example of these cars...you may just need to wait a bit till they find your ad :nyaanyaa:

Hey guys, just curious...

what you guys think? or is there a statistic regarding R32 GTR in WA?

is it low in supply but high in demand???

Comments please. :nyaanyaa:

Well I just sold mine. In WA too.

It took about a month & I didn't have a huge number of enquiries. Maybe half a dozen. More people wanted it than could either afford it or justify it.

Only one bloke came & looked at it, he was the first & he bought it.

My opinion is that if it is clean, stock(ish), well looked after & reasonable priced you should be able to sell it without a huge amount of drama. It won't be gone in a week & will probably take a few.

The down side is that you will get a raft of time wasters & tossers who will pound you with bizarre questions & expect you to give it away (to them) without them even bothering their arse to come & look at the car. Oddly enough the cheaper the car, the more of these types the ad appears to attract.

Best tip is clean it up & put a coat of polish on it. Make sure it drives well. Most importantly, never, ever underestimate the value of a pretty photo.

I used here & carsales & ended up selling it through car sales. I checked the numbers & approx the same number of people looked at the SAU ad as the carsales ad. Approx 800 of each.

Also ask your mates if they know anyone who wants one.

I was using random number as an example, but i dont think the real numbers will be far off

yes they run a business and the whole point is to profit

i also think modded cars sell quicker then stock, my 180sx sold in 3 hrs of advertising but i had way more pms/emails/phone calls about it compared to my skyline

Doesnt a car yard just buy the car from you? @ like a really really low price 15k?

then sell it for 25k or whatever they sell it for

Not always, i asked a car yard how much they would give me for my car and i didnt like the price so he said i could leave it in the car yard and he would sell it for me and i pay him for doing that, (you still end up with more money than selling him the car) but never did that as it was my daily driver

Depends on the guy at the car yard, some are nice and willing to help and some are just d**k heads

just make sure if you sell a car to yard on consignment they are registered with the Motor vehical industry board for consignment and they have a proper trust fund set up or you could be left high and dry with an unscrupulous dealer

as he mentioned :D

not really an exaggeration, my brother in law got only 4k for his twin turbo 300zx at a dealer, they sold it for over 15k. i know its a different car, but buying a r32 gtr for 13-15 and selling it for 22-25 sounds about right for a dealer.

As for the topic, theres probably only 5 people in all of perth who want an r32 gtr, im one of those 5. No ones likes em cause they are old, and probably thrashed.

    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
    • Not yet quite as bad as what we've seen a Jim Berry clutch do in an R32 GTR though when it decided to cut a chassis rail in half... Still very very gnarly and a great reason to avoid.
