Change To Current Internally Gated Setup

hey guys, in the coming months i want to change the basic standard turbo setup (internally gated) to an externally gated setup.

to do this i will get a custom low mount manifold, with a external gate pipe. and an externally gated turbo.

in doing this will there be any mods i have to make to the exhaust/dump pipe.

i am new to this external conversion

so any tips would be appreciated.

well for starters lover boy you'll need an external wastegate. the turbo itself is not 'externally gated' it's just a turbo. with no internal wastegate.

and yes of course you will need completely different dump pipe and most likely front pipe too.

Well using a new manifold, its all going to be in a different position.

You'll need a new dump regardless, as the non-gated rear is a different design, and position (with manifold) will require it changed.

How much more of the exhaust changes depends on how big the current dump is, but minimal either way.
