From what people have said who I have asked with regards to the radiator cap they should be ok. Many holden/ford cooling systems run a 1.3bar system and the cheepass chinese radiators for these have no probs with the caps so I don't expect these to be any different. Obviously over time any radiator is going to deteriorate and eventually rupture for one reason or another. The best way to keep a radiator in good shape is good coolant and regular changes to keep the system clean.

Anyway, when I get mine, sometime next week now :/ cos autotechnica have no stock will let you all know how I go.

Anyone in wa ordered a r33 rad but hasnt fitted it to their car yet? i would like to test fit ie slide into place in my cefiro to see if it clears the bonnet. cheers froggah

just been at the casino spending all ya coin people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol :P

basic rundowm:

as soon as your money is deposited into my account I send it to the supplier with your address

it then arrives hopefully in a day or two at your joint(normally about a week)

worst case was 2 weeks due to a lack of stock back at Christmas time

I don’t make any coin on these so be nice :P

I seriously encourage people to pick them up from seven hills as it avoids me dealing with people who presumably are risking 3 years salary, or so it seams as they call me 8 times 3 seconds after depositing the coin.

Stay cool breath and after 7 days call me to give me shit

  • 2 weeks later...
cores are smaller than end tanks...

Yah, the core isnt the same width of tank, moot really.

Has anyone fitted one to an R32 yet? Any issues?

Dummied it up week or two ago. Check my b l o g for a picture installed - don't laugh :ninja:

The unit sits 10mm lower then the stocker. (you can just see the top support rods don't really clear the top bracket rubber mounts, in my photo)

No real issue, as you can just flip the brackets upside down, flip the rubber mounts around too.

With fan shroud bolted up, the blades have heaps of room to spare.

hey all spoke to pete/fatz, he will be on holidays for the next 2 weeks but those who have ordered latley will be sent out and if you want to find out delivery time frame speak to john at UAS while pete is away.

cheers.

Hi guys,

How hard is it to replace radiator on R33? It is a matter of removing top mounts, loosening fan shroud and pull up? Are there any tricky items? Do you have to remove the fan to access? I was told 2 hours to replace which suggests that it's not a super quick thing to do?

Thanks for your help in advance. Have searched for Radiator link in DIY but they seem to have been removed.

    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
