Hey guys,

After the last DECA I did in July,I noticed that I had quite a bit of fuel "spill" out from when I was on the skid pan.

Now, I wiped it off as much as i could, but no matter what, fuel still splashes out (and yes, the cap is in!!)

No matter what I do now, there is always a fuel spillage mark from whenever I drive the car, whether it be a nice sunday drive or on the track, no matter what, it spills.

Now it has totally fubared my paint.

Besides a respray of that whole panel, what else would fix these stains?

And of course, before I do that - I need to fix this issue!

I noticed today (drove to work cause it was a nice day, and the 31 was being emo) that there were ALOT of fumes coming from the fuel tank, with it all closed and sealed and it freakin stinks soooo bad and I dont want to drive this car now cause of it (until its fixed of course) and I certainly do not want to do another track/sprint day and have a shitload of fuel come out on me

Any ideas?

Can you get a pic of the hole the nozzle goes into (hehehe) I have heard reports of the metal thingy falling in... If that were the case, then it would let a lot of fuel splash up against the cap, which would then seep out...

The metal thingy (sorry to use technical terms), stops fuel splashing out, but should have an air release on it for built up fumes... sometimes it splashes out of that...

The insert that was put in for compliance is not glued in properly. They are always lazy. You need to remove it and glue it back in with an expoxy glue. Make sure the flap is down and the breather holes up. To fix the paint all you need to do is polish it.

Yup, that's what the prob with my car was.

Mine was so bad I could pull the neck/insert out just by pulling on the closed fuel lid (twisty bit).

I fixed it up though. ;)

Well,

We got some hardcore glue as was mentioned here, and some solvent type thingy also! (i suck with names) and applied it under and aorund the gold neck thing!

Went for a drive after down old pac with some nice corners, yay! no fuel spillage!!

when i picked up my car the metal fuel nozzle guide thingy was siting inside the car. i thought it was some wierd metal tea cup or cup older. went to the engineer to get some paperwork and he couldnt believe they left it out. he wacked some black goo, looked like sicaflex and screwed it in with some aparatus. lucky i didnt throw that metal bit out.

    • I used to have Walbro 255's when they were a pretty common update. (or were they 044? 040?) In any case I had a dirty tank. I thought the tank was good, but I would find the filter would clog in maybe ~50km of driving. If the issue persists, well, your fuel system or tank has crap in it that the pump is sucking up.
    • Hi. Ok thanks for the info. I/we do not know what tune is on that Nistune ECU so it is why there is stock ECU and that Nistune is for later when the car is done. I have guy who tunes Nistune and other ECU so i will then take it to him to see and properly tune for the car   And for the update. On 99,9% it is bad fuel pump. Which is wierd cuz it is like 2 years old(brand new walbro 255) and that filter (also brand new) was dirty.  I was alwaya pumped premium(100) on very good petrol station so i dont know how is that possible...

    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
