Looks like i dribble some shite then, Think that was from a couple of years back!!

you just lucky i don't have an office job i would be posting up big time :P

Whats the go with engineering the emissions in Adelaide rb25/30,custom plenum and power fc. Im about to put 10 Grand in to my r33 motor this year but dont wana go rb25/30 if i cant engeineer anythink.

Iv also been thinking of putting the 10grand into my rb25det(internals only) but still would need to engineer greddy plenum and power fc. Iv also herd that you can have a larger turbo but need to stay in the Emissions range. Iv talk to a few ppl about what im looking at doing but stilll lost so i rang up regency but they said do the work and come down and show us but dont wana wast the money to be told i cant engineer it.

Unfortunately you're pretty much sh1t out of luck.

The way you will want to have it to drive it on the street it WON'T be legal anyway.

Any exhaust you will need to make any kind of power out of the thing won't pass drive by noise regs.

Any aftermarket programmable management is not legal, as it can be adjusted as soon as you leave from the testing.

Spending money on trying to engineer it would better be saved for putting it back to stock if it ever gets defected.

I hate to sound like a wet blanket, but a truly legal modified car is pretty much a pipe dream.

The hole engineering of my car has got me pulling my hair out. The last 2 weeks iv been reading diffrent forums, transport s.a iv talk to the local police and talked to the ppl at regency and none can give me straight answers. Iv just got a hole heap of numbers of engineers in Adelaide that are recognised by transport s.a so im hoping they can give me some straight answers during the week.

With regards to engine changes.

The few vehicle standard blokes I've spoke to have said they can't see a problem with the RB30det as it is essentially just a stroked rb25. Providing no other work is done via camshaft changes etc total power output won't change. Torque will; an increase in torque they don't 'see' as a problem.

Was all very vague but you get that from vehicle standards. :P

Went in a sti wrx stock turbo running 18psi today and shit they fly, but 18psi sounded a bit high for stock turbo tho

Honeypot road didnt seem that long in the sti lol

Mid to low 13sec pass out of a stock car is pretty damn quick. But in saying that the 'old' in comparison r33 gtst with an exhaust, fmic and ecu runs the same times.

Yeah but its something different Dan. :O

Something new/different to play with.

You'll probably get bored eventually and venture back to a gtr though. Couple of nice little mods and 350rwkw.

Then bang there goes third gear. lol

    • From the factory on RB26s there's a fitting on the intake manifold collector/"plenum" that provides pre-throttle boost signal. That's how they did it back in the day, I figure it's fine to replicate it.
    • I would be surprised if that wasn't the issue. It's probably telling you, that even if you remove the plastic liner, you may have some other clearance issues that may occur too in some scenarios. IE, tyre to guard. It looks like someone has already rolled the lip, but you may still have issues in the future IE, turning and hitting a bump etc. The fact it changes how bad it makes the noise when you are going backward vs forward is highly indicative that it's the tyre rubbing. They do make a terrible sound, even if you're only pushing a project car that has a liner hanging down on a tyre!   Has the car been lowered? If it has been, what is the measurement from the centre of the wheel hub to the lip of the guard straight up?
    • Summernats cruiser?
    • Mark's a bit smarter than people give him credit... He'd convince the person that is to become dead, to drive him to the forest first. That way his car has no evidence in it, and he's free to dispose of their vehicle permanently how he sees fit too...
    • But if you had to go bury a body in the forest, would you not put that in the boot? Most of them are >=90kg these days.
