andrew, did you ever take the S15 down A.I.R? got my latest issue of HPI today, and they're doing the top 10 imports

number 3 is the S15 Silvia...........and theres a front and centre pic of your old S15. Hard to tell from the noggin shot if its you at the helm or not

Yeah mate I took the S15 out many times. Best was a 12.74 @ 110mph. I normally had either my ROH blades or R32 stockies on the rear for reference. My S15 was in HPI a few times, so could very well be it. However Kurts Wilson's S15 ran low 12s from memory and was pewter the same colour as mine, so could be a photo of his old one.

Mitch thats hardly funny down syndrom is no laughing matter i could go on but i wont lecture

*sigh* I knew someone would say that its not a laughing matter. Lighten up. We're not laughing at them.... we're laughing at the guy who matched system of a down with syndrome of a down...

*mumbles something about too many vigilantes*

did i say or imply down syndrome was a laughing matter ?

no.

please lighten up -_-

maybe this one might not "offend" people

there were some decent ones in the careers guide on saturday.

im beyond sick of working at the casino, so im applying for a few now.

but i find myself having to rewrite my resume.

old man thought itd be a good idea to upgrade and reformat my computer, so i lost my resume. rad.

FKN LOL it finally clicked, you're the bloke I was talkin to near pitstop the other day :D

Its got nothing to do with chilling out of lightening up alot of up have children who knows if any one here would have a ds child

its about appropriate behaviour

you wouldn't joke about youth suicide and i could easily say lighten up

nuff said

Basically, the picture is in bad taste and offends some people but other people might find it humerous. We all have different styles/senses of humour.

I can see Steve's point.

yes , and so can I.

its not like i set out to offend anyone .

oh and about youth suicide , ive had experience in that area with one of my best mates , you could joke to me about the topic , i wont get offended or anything .

say something about my mate then yeah , ill fire up .

its not like i depicted anyone personally with that picture of the people with down syndrome .

Well said. He didn't target anyone in particular, so its ok imho. And I agree 100% with the suicide remark. Point is, if we're going to be sanitizing everything and leaving this forum to only car talk, then we could say that any talk about religion, politics or pregnancy is totally off limit, cause quite frankly I come here for the cars, no other reason. Could care less about anyones personal views on those aforementioned touchy subjects, don't care about religion, or children, or any such thing, and hence I just ignore the things I don't agree with/don't care about. I'm not about to start a fight with anyone, but if someones posting a picture that is clearly meant to be humorous, and you don't think is appropriate, then thats your own personal prerogative. For every one person who takes offence, theres 10 more that are having a belly laugh. If someone gets offended with me or anyone else, PM them directly and we'll either apologise or argue our point. Otherwise we'll be policing stupid arguments and wasting a lot of breath.

Political correctness. Makes me f'ing sick.

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
