ME =] i got tropical setup 6 foot XD~~ with some very expensive fishies

I have a nice Octagonal 120lt tank that did have well over $500 worth of marine fish and coral in it, until I bought my dream fish - a Flame Angel (for the bargain price of $200). Unbeknownst to me it had a fungal eye infection when I bought it, which deteriorated over the next 3 weeks, and after $100 of medications and carry-on later, it, and my whole tank of fish/coral was dead.

I chucked the tank and all the gear out in the shed and that was it.

I am actually about to re-do the tank with freshwater tropical - I have a little 40Lt Jebo tank here in my office wiht a few Rainbow Gouramis and half a dozen colourful guppies, which I will chuck in the re-done tank. No more marine for me :P

Craig - unless you are prepared to buy an external canister filter, 2 mechanical internal filters, internal protein skimmer, $200+ of live rock, religiously change at least 20% of water, spend the $10 per week on salt to keep the salt levels up in the tank, spend a minimum of $60 per fish (and up to $200 each for the really good fish) to stock it, then I wouldn't even dream about trying a marine tank. It is a very big and expensive commitment. But they look unbelievable when set up and maintained correctly.

yeah, i know its a bit of work, but they look amazing when looked after....

i didnt realize there was THAT much work though.....

def going tropical though

atm i have 4 goldfish each around 20cm long and fat as all hell (120 ea) and various other cold water colours

but im bored of them, too easy to look after, and not enough variation

if you keen to sell the corner unit, let me know,

lookin after a tropical tank is easy peasy just need a good filter, i bought my fluval fx5 about a year ago and only changed the water every 6 months and fish still happy =D just remember to feed the fishes thats all you need to worry about.

craig buy cichlids if you want bright colours for your tropical setup eg, electric yellow, african peacocks, discus??, i got an Arowana, 2 electric yellows, 2 feather fin cat fish, 6 blood parrots, 2 big plecos, and 2 african peacocks.

    • Hopefully you can just unbolt them, thank them for their service, then bin them and not replace them Apparently the sensors like to set them off with only minor impacts at low speed It looks like they do a delete kit for some of these, but, it is costly
    • I hope it's actually possible. This is a write off in insurance world.
    • Yup. 2-way with shallow ramp angles. Still works.
    • That was the first session so not a lot to take from the day. It was low 20s ambient and the coolant had got to 110 (and obviously had some pressure!) so that still needs to be addressed. I haven't downloaded the data yet but will. I had refilled the auto trans with Redline DT6 because it claimed the best viscosity I could find at 100o. It wasn't really long enough to get a good feel for that; while the trans got to 100o in the session it still wasn't shifting crisply as I hoped. I think I'll try a few more sessions before judging. No steering motor overheat but I'd hope not in only 1 session! But finally the suspension; it was night and day over the standard stuff and the car was a couple of seconds quicker on the same crappy tyres, which is a huge difference. I'll stick with that and get some sway bars and a mechanical diff sorted too and see how that all goes together
    • I guess it’s partially a compromise of how my car is used, wanting to be able to switch from drift to grip with track side on-car adjustment. Also partially with the way the knuckles are set there is more static camber but less dynamic camber gain.
