saw a new WRX written off today on lonsdale hwy around 1pm. Both air bags out. Driver looked pretty pissed off. Think a commo hit him or other way around.

Also had to wait an extra 30mins at work for the cop car to leave out the front on the rd lol

Hopefully my splitfires arrive tomorrow. Damm Access Autoworks not replying to emails after ive sent money grr

My fkn turbo is making a bulk weird noise. It almost sounds like theres something rattling around in the exhaust housing :P

It was boosting fine when I drove it last night, then when I started it this arvo to move it to the lawn I noticed the sound.

I had to turn it off not long after it had seen some decent boosting last night, could that have done something?

sorry dutch oven, i cant answer your question, but i do have a question for you,

im lookin for another car atm, its a toss up between a jzx100 chaser, manual

or 34 door,

i havent found any particular yet, just sort of seeing whats around

how do you rate your car? mod abilities, power, etc,

i have never driven one before, and i dont really wanna go look at one thats for sale, just to take it for a spin (i hate joy riders)

i pretty much want a review :P

thanks mate

I know the question was not directed at me BUT....

i would have a jxz100 manual if i could have afforded one at the time,

i drove one that had heavy duty clutch, teins, ebc, fmic and a zorst... it was AWESOME. felt a lot smaller than it actually is.

im sure u know toyota have a tendancy to over engineer things, so u can throw lots of bolt ons at a 1J and thrash it, and in return it will love u.

also i reckon they are dead sexy

edit:

check this >>>jzx90<<< that has a 1.5J for sale $15k !!!!!!!!

carl, that is nice, and pretty much what im lookin for! has to be black :)

where and how much?

edit: just seen the link

edited again, just noticed its a jzx90

Well, seeing as my car is a shitbox 32, I rate it pretty poorly

But as for a JZX100, I drove a 34 coupe and my old 100 back to back and I can say performance wise they are pretty well on par. Similar power delivery (100 has a bit more bottom-mid) and similar feel when chucking them around (which is pretty good considering the extra weight of the 100).

On stock sus, the 100 feels heaps nicer to drive, but has a bit more roll and pitch than a stock sus 34. Coilovers even it up and with sways too, mine was in GTR spec handling territory.

I thought the interior of the 34 was a bit boy racerish, where as the 100 has a nice comfy Camry-like interior which is a great place to sit when tootling to and from work. Also seats any mates who want to come for a drive a lot better than a 34.

Looks are subjective, but I don't think theres any competition there, 100 all the way

In summary, the 100 is something you can enjoy every day in comfort, and still bust hills runs and keep up with most cars. The 34 would be on par in the hills, yet a bit harsher for every day use. Not to mention the cop attention is chalk and cheese, my old 100 had straight pipes and flush fitment and I barely got a second look from cops. You chuck a set of wheels on a Skyline and every cop looks at you with dollar signs in their eyes.

Craig - If your gonna mod the crap out of it, it could go either way. Theres a bit more more shit readily available for the 34 and for cheaper then JZX100 stuff. The 25 would be just as good as the 1J with similar bolt ons, maybe just a *smidge* less torquey. It would probably come down to what car you'd rather be seen driving

If Gregs 90 is still available when you're ready to buy, I'd say get that and manual it  1.5J + manual would = shitloads of fun :):D

Theres a black chaser near my house, black D-Teks on it and big exhaust..f**k me it sounds amazing. Way better than ANY 25 I've heard that for sure. Looks the goods man. I'd go a manual chaser for sure. It was one of the newer ones. Dunno what it was but I know it was shit hot!

Yeah I'm thinking it'd be a lot easier to just get a 34 and work with what you know. As said above though ^ a 1J with a decent exhaust is pure aural sex. Hills runs in my old one with straight pipes were bliss.

Looks wise, I prefer the 100 in Chaser and Mark II variants. 90 Chasers can look pretty fking cool though.

This is a JZX90 Chaser with just a Vertex Lip kit and GTR rims. Fking stylish rig in my eyes

    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items
    • Funny, but really not funny. Thank god (most) f the world has moved on since then
    • Lots of votes for driving onto a plank first; that is the quickest way I've found, 25mm is enough for my case but that will vary by car It also depends where you are going for. On the 32 I can get to the rear diff with my floor jack if I do that end first, and get it up on stands. Then I lift the front from either front tow hook as high as needed, also onto stands. Sometimes I need a small lift on the other tow hook to get it level enough If I do the front first I can't get to the rear diff because of the angle of the car Other options are getting to the front mount of the rear subframe from in front of the wheel (if only lifting one side, or just do both which is a bit of a pain compared to one lift from the diff), or also the gearbox cross member mount on the driver's side if you are  just trying to lift the driver's side. I This is the jack I use; it says 75mm clearance but of course that is only on the lower section so if you have to reach too far in like the diff you still get stuck. https://www.snapon-bluepoint.com.sg/category/Floor-Jacks/product/Floor-Jack,-2-Ton-Low-Profile
