What's it with shit customer service lately?

It's taken over a week for Internode to get back to me (I can't afford to spend 45 minutes on hold to call them, believe it or not lol) and then the Optus customer service people are f**king useless. They told me "there's too many terms and conditions to display on the website"

TIO, here I come. F**k Optus.

you just seem to have all the bad luck daniel

whats the go with that :)

look on the bright side....ur driving a R

:) very true!

Thats what happens when you hire deadbeats. I've had some rep's who can't even speak properly over the phone, and don't get me started on 3's call centre.

Oh shit, 3 call centre... they're shocking.

3's call centre is in India, but Optus's call centre is in the Philippines.

I even asked to speak to her team leader/supervisor and she sighed and said "He's not on the level at the moment, I'll get him to call you back" but he never did! It's been like 4 or 5 days now.

Ah.

Well Daniel the amount of time you spend on here and the net one would of assumed you were familiar with terms of service and the likes

i would of thought its pretty common knowledge that you change your rate plan mid month then it doesnt kick in till the new month :)

Damo didnt know you swung that way driving 'T's' :)

lol

It ranges from garden variety drag racing to “drifting,” an extremely dangerous practice in which drivers deliberately spin out and skid sideways at high speeds, sometimes killing themselves and spectators.

Haha you've got me started now!

Well, according to Optus, it's slightly different.

I'm fully aware that, that statement is true for rate changes in phone calls, but Data plans are slightly different with Optus (that's what a Customer Service girl from Optus said on the phone).

When I rang them up BEFORE I had the Rate plan changed for the Data allowance, I was told "it will come into effect 3 days after you've submitted the request online". I then asked "So, any data usage after that date will be charged under the new data plan that I've chosen?" to which the Customer Service girl said "Yes, that is correct".

Here's what the bill says for everyone playing at home:

Data Charges $882.98

Total Units: 424 MB

And here's what data pack they've charged me:

18 Feb 3 Mar MobileInternetUltimate 1 9.07 $9.07

And I'm clearly on the Mobile Starter Data Pack, as it states it in the previous bill:

16 Jan 3 Feb MobileInternetStarter 1 2.76 $2.76

4 Feb 3 Mar MobileInternetStarter 1 4.50 $4.50

And from reading that, now I can see how they talk about the 'pro-rata' kicking in, as it's charged me for the Internet Starter pack for the next billing period (which is now).

But I've found this in my history of My Orders:

15/02/2009 Add/Modify/Remove VAS Order Confirmation: 4085790

15/02/2009 4085790 Change VAS Closed

Associated services/equipment

Added

Mobile Internet Ultimate

Removed

Mobile Internet Starter

Requested activation date: 18/02/2009

Scheduled activation date: 18/02/2009

And that order was to change from one data pack to another, which went through successfully. As it states, it was ACTIVATED on the 18th...

But when I go into the Special Discounts section, it shows that it's credited me for the 2 data packs, and has included some sort of usage in it.

The first one ($4.46) would be the Starter Pack and the second one ($161.16) would be the Ultimate pack! So, they've charged me for it, and included some of it, yet... magically this other 400MB wasn't included in the 1gig pack yet the 400MB was used once I was on the 1gig plan! Plus I wasn't even charged for the Starter pack for the first 2 weeks of the month, yet I should have been:

Special Discounts

Date Details Quantity Amount

03 Mar Mobile Internet Data Included $4.46 CR

03 Mar Customer Service Adjustment $2.96 CR

03 Mar Mobile Internet Data Included $161.16 CR

$168.58 CR

So, after reading all that, either way... I was on a data pack! So even if they come back and say "you spent 400MB over your limit... blah blah blah" then really, I should be charged at the excess usage rate, which is $0.50 per MB!

So they've charged me at some magical rate for the excess usage.

In the end, I've been charged for 2 data packs, it's evident that BOTH data packs have had internet charges against them (so they've both been active).

Then I was told, since the NEW data pack has kicked in half way through the month, I'm only entitled to HALF the usage in that pack. So half of 1gig is obviously 500mb. And if I sift through all my internet records, I only used 70mb on the Starter pack period, and the rest on the Ultimate pack period (the 1gig cap).

But if you put that Ultimate pack aside, I should be getting charged $0.50 per MB for excess usage anyway (even if I didn't get the Ultimate pack)... therefore, excess usage should be $200. Not $700+.

/End.

Edit: anyone remember when the iPhone first came out? Anyone who was on Optus had $1000+ bills coming in for excess data usage... again, Optus f**ked up and credited it back.

edit: anyone got a cheap ca18det and box laying around?

Theres a full CA engine package (with box n shit) on NS for sale at the mo for 1700, I was gonna get it but I want another RB20 :)

Yeah thats what I thought. CA with turbo and loom and all the shit you need plus gb as well. I was gonna get my mate to help with the conversion as he just finished putting a 25 into his workmates R32 over the weekend (took 5 days from when he drove in with an NA 25 to driving out with a 25DET) but yeah I'd rather something with an RB20 in it :)

CA's don't even need oil :)

Have had nothing but bad experiences with CA's (spun bearings, lack of women throwing themselves at the car when I drove past, etc).

But seriously, if you're going CA... just do yourself a favour and get a RB20!

Use the CA for a paper weight or something.

    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
    • My experience with Rising Sun Exports Before agreeing to the sale I tried to do as much research as I could (obviously), his Facebook reviews are 98% and he goes Live at least once or twice a week. I contacted 2 people in the UK who had used him for their imports, both had positive feedback. His explanation and talk through of the import process was thorough, answering any query no matter how stupid it was. It felt as soon as the money was sent, communication dropped off. I asked for shipping updates every 2 weeks or so, not wanting to pester him, he never had any updates. I wasn't informed the car had been dropped off at the port, I only found out by his Facebook story. I asked for the photos taken at the port, knowing he would need some for insurance purposes. I received a few 5 second clips and that's it. When asked again, he said his staff had them. Weeks later I asked again, he tells me he doesn't have any, but does have 50 photos from the original advert. I never received them. I eventually got the documents sent via WhatsApp after I mentioned the port was requesting them. I purchased a CarVX report, to find out the vehicle is a Grade R with recorded accident damage, first recorded in 2017 when it was first auctioned. He never told me the grade, then again I didn't ask. His response was "Grade R means nothing, it wasn't chassis damage". Still, I would have liked to have been informed about it. Jon prides himself on being open and honest when it comes to inspecting cars, it's his main job doing so at the auctions for customers. When the vehicle arrived in the UK I noticed a few little cosmetic issues. It's a 21 year old car so it wasn't going to be mint condition. The side skirts are cracked on each corner and the sealant is failing. The front grill on the bonnet/hood isn't secured very well, mounting studs are missing. Both minor things, but again, it would have been nice to be told. During a Facebook Live walk around video of the vehicle, he mentioned it has a front Whiteline anti roll bar/sway bar. While on the inspection ramp, I noticed the stock item has been installed. When first questioned, his response was "the ARB? Switched? Since when, it never had them". Since sending video and photo evidence I've not received a response. I'm probably being over critical of the overall condition of an old car, but all I wanted was honesty (which he claims to have). I'm aware I wasn't his only customer, he's busy doing XYZ but other reviews praise him for great communication with regular updates and photos, I felt I didn't receive the same treatment.
    • I was able to get some underside photos while the car was on the ramp The suspension is all Altezza/IS200/IS300 so getting part's will hopefully be less of a headache
