^^ does he even drive it apart from onto a dyno :/

hahaha yeah

they just did it with all stock stuff and he couldnt brake so they upgraded to the slotted rotors and better pads and that made him stop lol mind u this was all on the street too!

the thing is luke, i wont be tracking or dragging her, she will be dyno queen and streeter.

so ill be going with Brembos and maybe EBC Red Stuff brake pads......

Brembos are great, but make sure u get a large rotor to match those sweet calipers

and avoid the EBC Red's... theyre track pads

if you're streeting, stick to EBC greens/bendix ultimates or the QFM pads

ive been told to stay away from EBC greens cause they are too noisy and create alot more brake dust than the reds?

I used Red Stuff on my R and they were brilliant.

Very clean on the wheels too (ceramic pads), unlike Bendix, and can handle both street (low coefficiency) and the ocassional track day without fade (high temp handling).

Were a bit noisy for the 1st 1000km but quietened down eventually and grabbed those rotors hard and fast!

sick, thanks for that Pete, i rekon ill get the ebc reds for sure :/

rb stickers, dosnt anyone like sleepers these days :/

i prefer the dont need to brag about being able to whip your ass at the lights approach.

but then it might get 1 or 2 bogans to accept they cant beat you and not rev you at the lights

    • I don't know, I've never done it that way, but 1. While it is an interference engine, there is still clearance between the valves and the piston at all points in the regular timing cycle 2. There is not a lot of distance before you can't catch the top of the valve stem any more I don't know if 2 is greater or less than 1. But 3. If it doesn't work out you are f**ked, engine is coming out to disassemble so it is a big bet.
    • Semi slicks are horrible for road use, just use a high performance road tyre unless you really need the maximum grip. Noisy, unpredictable (amazing, until they are not), expensive due to very high wear and not good in cold and particular wet. And yes, it is a thing to store cars on stands instead of tyres if you know they are going to be parked up long term.....but who ever realises that a short park is going to stretch into years before it is out again!
    • I know in Australia you'll definitely get above 30c. Parked in the shade in Summer you'll be above that. 😛 But in cooler climates, you might get that warm driving on the highway for a bit, but you'd never get to full heat temp. I'll try and find some of my historical tyre temps between Aus summer and winter (be aware immin the warmer area of Aus too.)
