Injectors won't help the turbo make power but cams will.

Also Garrett prices were increased 30% at the end of last year.

My turbo i got 18 months ago for 1000+ GST trade i can't get for less than $1490 now. It'll be interesting to see of HKS have also mover their prices because Garrett will have moved their prices in to HKS range if they haven't

I know Phu talked a lot of smack too :P

But he may have had a massive turbo .... great if you own a dyno queen, but forget mega lag for the street.

I remember MattR's white ex-JMS R32GTR that made over 500rwkw, but with the T51R made very little power until around 4,500rpm - when it would make 100rwkw per 1,000rm and the power hit like a hammer. Was quite insane. Awesome for the drag strip and dynos, bloody horrible for the street.

Hence why Munro has gotten rid of his and downgraded to a pair of 25/40s for his RB30DETT streeter - significantly improved streetability for a relatively small sacrifice in power. Puts a MASSIVE smile on your face too :):P :P

Turbo back exhaust, pod filter, intercooler, 12psi boost, fuel pump and remapped ECU(can get it done through turbo tune[my mate got his done there with the mods I mentioned and got a smidge under 200rwkw on their dyno])

i got 186kw when willal got there mainline dyno and i had 3" turbo back exhaust, fmic, power fc, fuel pump and boost was 13.8 psi so go figure! same as my mechanics r34 gtt he got 191kw!

^^^ The RB25DET NEO is a vastly superior motor to the R33 RBD25ET including enhanced valve timing, cam timimng and various other tweaks. I am surprised your results were so close Son - often there is 10-20% difference between NEO and non-NEO motors with the same mods.

my car was breathing better than his with the decat, straight through exhaust. but it seems right normally there's a difference of 5-20kw between neo and non neo rb25! but the difference was powerband, mine boosts quicker than his but ran out of puff at the higher rev range while his car ate mine at that point, it felt alot more punchy at top end

but i think the extra bit of torque and power comes from more duration and lift from the cams! i'm not sure how vvt works but i think the cams twist? like how v tech kicks in! i could be wrong but that's my guess

ok cool

ill have a look at some garrett turbos tomoro if i get time....see what the deal is with them :)

thanks heaps guys :P

Im running standard turbo at 12psi, making a little over 200rwkw with power fc, fmic, free flowing exhaust, bleed valve. standard fuel pump, coilpacks, injectors, cams + gears, etc. i've considered the turbo upgrade options, but have something else in mind at the moment. high flow turbo will see 250ish, maybe a bit less, but if your building a dyno queen, your gonna need something like Ryan has on his 33, i think its 3582R? or if its a dyno queen, read: not for road use, you will probably benefit from a high mount turbo setup.

anyone really listened to Lily Allen's new song lyrics?

Oh he treats me with respect

He says he loves me all the time

He calls me 15 times a day

He likes to make sure that I'm fine

You know I've never met a man

who's made me feel quite so secure

He's not like all them other boys

They're all so dumb and immature

There's just one thing

that's getting in the way

When we go up to bed

you're just no good

Its such a shame

I look into your eyes

I want to get to know you

And then you make this noise

and its apparent it's all over

It's not fair

And I think you're really mean

I think you're really mean

I think you're really mean

Oh you're supposed to care

But you never make me scream

You never make me scream

Oh it's not fair

And it's really not ok

It's really not ok

It's really not ok

Oh you're supposed to care

But all you do is take

Yeah all you do is take

Oh I lie here

in the wet patch

In the middle of the bed

I'm feeling pretty

damn hard done by

I spent ages giving head

Then I remember

all the nice things

that you ever said to me

Maybe I'm just overreacting

maybe you're the one for me

There's just one thing

that's getting in the way

When we go up to bed

you're just no good

It's such a shame

I look into your eyes

I want to get to know you

And then you make this noise

and it's apparent it's all over

It's not fair

And I think you're really mean

I think you're really mean

I think you're really mean

Oh you're supposed to care

But you never make me scream

You never make me scream

Oh it's not fair

And it's really not ok

It's really not ok

It's really not ok

Oh you're supposed to care

But all you do is take

Yeah all you do is take

There's just one thing

that's getting in the way

When we go up to bed

    • Perfect, I'll get to it this winter then at the same time as I weld on my anti squat kit.
    • Alright so my 32 only has one temperature no matter what degree you set it to. I’ve tried disconnecting the servo motor arm and moving it either direction and got no change. I’ve fixed the leak in my AC and re charged it and with it on and clutch engaged it still blows hot even though the low pressure pipe going to the firewall is ice cold. Both heater core hoses are hot while running as well. Diagnostic code showed 24 for intake air temperature sensor. Anybody got any ideas?
    • I said Garrett style. Not Garrett genuine. And something in the G30 550 range is what you want. Not those pokey little old fashioned T28 sized things. The intake ports in the head are small. There is little benefit in fattening up the runners and leaving ths actual ports small. Just run what you've got. And on the subject of Nistune vs Haltech etc..... You know you can control the transmission with decent standalone ECUs these days, right? No need to keep any of that old Nissan bullshit. Don't get me wrong - I use Nistune on my Neo. But it is a DET, so the number of bodges and workarounds I had to do to make it work in a chassis without ABS, TCS, etc, is quite small compared to the herniated arsehole you will have trying to make it work on a motor that doesn't have some of the things that the turbo ECU wants to see. Just easier to bite the bullet and go aftermarket outright.
    • Hmm. Only when the f**king thing is actually working. Still can't find the leak. And that's with dye being put in the last 3 times!
