Could be interesting but that many cars through the city and then onto bondi might cause problems .. i.e traffic lights and the ussual stopping to one side issue that attracts the cops ..

just a tip .. I think dump bondi because its a pain to get so many cars to .. maybe head to clovelli car park and shoot through coogee and back out ranwick and head toward city again n then burwood or whatever..

just an idea

Hey Assasin its been awhile since I have seen you :(

Well done for organising a cruise I know it isnt easy and its great you are giving it a go ;)

I love the palm beach stretch as a nice drive and doesnt sound all that bad the rest of it ...

I agree with Doofs post :( dont worry about the whingers they just love to have an opiuion :w00t:

If my car isnt in the spray shop I will more then likely be there!!

I think a number of your are being unnecessarily negative and bordering on rude to this guy. He's fairly new, he's obviously a keen enthusiast and he's putting some actual effort and thought into organising a cruise.

Maybe instead of shooting him down you could either offer a modification to his plan that you would be interested in or just leave it alone.

For what it's worth, I wont be in Sydney that weekend but if I was I would be thinking that it does sound like most of the journey will be in traffic. Maybe try a 3 or 4 pm start heading across the city to the east, maybe some beaches but avoid Bondi, then continue the way you previously thought. Bondi rd on a sunny day barely moves.

Thanks Abo Bob.. Thats why I organised it for the day, not at night.. I took that into consideration already... =)

I'm sure this cruise will get a lot of attention...

Has been a while Sinful.. Hope the Berowra meetups are going good.. Im not worried about the whingers.. Every cruise I have organised to date, has been awesome.. And everyone that has attended have been great...

I'm sure this will be just as good. FOr those who arent interested in this cruise, please dont add a reply.

As for Bondi, I think we'll give that part a miss. I know the roads very well in sydney, so I'll take us on a very good run....

=)

Unfort I wont be attending guys, drive safe

Remember, you guys could also join SAU NSW and do the Go kart day the weekend after (yes I know I know shameless plug :w00t: )

Omar, send the November wollongong link to Zilch when your on next.. Thanks champ.

November cruise? Isn't the Gong this month? And in Nov there's the Sydney cruise...am i missing another cruise?

Is this a "run" or a "cruise"?

Hahahahahaha :D

I am so in, maybe +3 or 4, see what the girls and boys are up to, but i will be there for sure

Looking forward to meeting you champ. The more the merrier..

By the way, for everyone reading this.... When we do pass through the city, we will be driving at a slower pace. So for those that do get stuck at a set of lights, you'll be able to catch us no problems. I'll give my number at the Olympic Park or Palm Beach, in case someone gets left behind. But I'm sure we'll be fine. I always have my eye in the rearview, so if I notice someone who is at a set of lights, I'll pull over, and so will the chain of skylines behind me.

The only part I'm really concerned about is when we come back from Palm Beach over the Harbour Bridge. The CBD and cruising through Double Bay & Vaucluse is my only concern in terms of traffic lights. Once we're on Anzac Parade (off Oxford Street), heading to Brighton Le Sands, its a nice cruise, as theres barely any lights..

So far it looks like we have about 20-25 cars coming.. Not bad guys..

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
