Recommended Full Exhausts Or Exhaust Shops For Rb25dets (r34)

Recommended Posts

All,

I am looking at getting an exhaust on my GTT and am wanting recommendations on either exhaust shops in the Sydney area (I am in Kogarah) or pre-fabricated full exhaust systems. I am not interested in just cat-back. I am specifically after a decent tone to the exhaust that is not too loud on the freeway or at low revs. Just a nice grunt when gunning it etc and a nice hum on idle (yes I know in a perfect world...)

Any advice on good shops that dont charge stupidly (like Lambros charging $600 for a stainless muffler!) or full kits that bolt on would be great. I am after a 3 inch from turbo back.

hey mate im working in kogorah i got a xforce turboback on mine

it sounds quite nice good grumbling sound not too loud either sounds effing sexy when turning on the car, exhaust comes out on an angle too but it does stick out a lil bit which i like but u may not come down swing by n check it out one of these days if i drive to work

Brookvale Mufflers - Best in town - Do crazy shit at awesome prices - 9905 3007

Completely custom exhausts :D You should go to the shop and see the kind of shit they are working on :P

Jamies exhausts are damn beautiful, and Andrew could turbo the sun!

I would either go a CES system

OR

Buy a dump pipe + front pipe in one from BATMBL on these forums (if he is still selling)

Then buy a jap branded cat back from say JustJap, or Nengun. E.g. A Trust Power Extreme II, HKS Silent Power, Fujitsubo or Kakimoto.

umm depends if welding on a new flange or just welding it straight on. if flanged then price is still bit high, but welding straight onto existing pipes can be done for $80. Hume Mufflers did my last one for that price.

in regards to full systems, jap branded dump/front pipes are not cheap...get a CES one teamed with a jap catback for best results. im running a Trust dump+front with a ceramic high flow cat and a Trust Power Extreme 2 catback sounds beasty!

by the way remember that in some cases you might need a new cat as well. as part of a full exhaust system, and being a performance car, most shops would also include a high flow cat into the deal! if they dont then remember to factor that in as well

Thanks for the replies guys. I ended up getting a second hand front split dump in stainless, custom front pipe, JJR 3 inch stainless cat ($180 with SAU discount), and an HKS Super Dragger cat back from the for sale section too. Should be installed this weekend hopefully!

Anyone know a cheap place to get it bolted on near Kogarah? It is literally a bolt on job and I could do it myself but it would be a lot faster on a hoist!

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
