I used to run 255/45/16 on mine, but now I run 245/45/16 as its a more common size and cheaper. The difference in rolling diameter is negligible. 225/50/16's sit square with the rim.

my pick would be some 235/50's, 235's would be a fair bit more common that 245's, profile wise im not sure when it comes to how common they are. but i guess if u wanted to u could run 255's, would flop around a fair bit through the corners tho.

yeah I got rid of the 255's after they started doin exactly that... maybe the sidewalls of the tyres I used weren't strong enough.

the 245's I've got are Falken FK-451, dunno how much I paid for em tho, been a while since I got em. They're a common size on older HSV Commy's etc so most tyre shops have em in stock at some branch or other in various brands.

either 225 or 235 is the right size for the 8inch wide standard 32 GTR wheel. I would suggest the 225 or even a 215 is fine. anything above 235 is too wide.

my mate can get me some good continentals for about 180each..225x16x50.also i priced the goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3 for 235 each anyone had these and liked them...

also ill have 18x255x35 for sale or swap for some decent 16...

Last time i checked with Blair's tyres:

245/45/r16 Toyo T1R for $230 fitted :w00t:

otherwise Hankook Z212 RS-2 come in that size too which is cheaper..

but i'm only going to be using them for the drags/street only (for rears) on circuit i usually run another set of rims with better fitament tyres.

yeh 225x50x16 it will be. i think 245 would be good for drags but bit sloppy in sidewalls for track...

    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
