Hey guys,

I have the week off so I thought I might scope out some cruise spots that don't often come up in the forums. One such spot was a nice little place called Bundeena situated on the north eastern coast of the Royal National Park. This is a great spot, it has heaps of beachside parking and is right across the road from some small shops and cafe's that make some awesome fruit smoothies :P.

The cruise down was great through the national park, the roads are pretty good but you might have to watch out for wildlife (almost ran over a huge lizard, I think he would have made a bigger mess of my car than I would of him lol).

Oh yeah, and other forms of "wildlife" that seem to frequent the area...a.k.a, the 2 idiot SS drivers who almost had a head on with me while they were trying to over take a slower car while crossing double white lines. D*ckheads!

It would be great for a sunday arvo thing with maybe a BBQ and some swimming in the spectacular cove of bundeena with some of the blue'est water I've ever seen (great for about Dec/Jan when it really starts to heat up). There are heaps of good photo opportunities as well...(sorry about the quality, my digi camera's batteries died so I had to use my 2.0mega pixile phone lol)

These were taken at about 11am on the Bundeena pier, easily accessable buy cars. I'd say the background would be even better at about 5pm with a summer sunset.

So guys, if your looking for a nice cruise destination that you don't have to go interstate for, this IS a place that would rival the likes of the Sunday arvo Spit meets at Surface Paradise in Qld.

Word on the street is, that it has a good gearbox :P

Sorry I forgot to tell you, that you are banned from coming over..

I know where you live buddy! I can get in there too!!!! There's holes in the fence you know!

Im actually out Penrith way, I absolutely SUCK with directions outside of Penrith - Mt Druitt area so im always too paranoid to venture out to cruise to places like this but my GF is buying me a GPS for Christmas so I wanna find some nice places to cruise too.

Ahh from penrith..

Well perhaps 1.5hours max to bundenna, if traffic is all good..

think you catch m5?? get off at auburn, come down all the way to bankstown.. keep going.. hit alfords point road..

then go on bangor bypass, or keep going straight and hit heatcote road..

few ways you can get to bundenna

But yea best to look at the map

^ from CBD?

perhaps 35-45mins max.. depends on traffic and which way you come..

Probably a touch longer. From the CDB to my house would be about half an hour. From there it would be minimum half to get there I would think?

I'd allow around an hour or a touch more to be on the safe side :P

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
