Hi ppls,

I'm about to outlay a few $$ on gauges in an attempt to keep an eye on things out at Mallala.

I'm looking at EGT, Oil Pressure and Oil Temp.

The others boost, water temp etc etc I don't need as thats what the PFC and Boost Controller is for.

The guage I'm looking at is a brand called Nordskog.

They are a digital guage of which I like the idea of. Quick and easy to read; they also have a peak hold feature and able to display both F and C.

Here -> <CLICK> <- is where I'll be purchasing them from. I've bought bits from them in the past; can't recommend them highly enough, a MASSIVE range of silicon, extremely fast delivery with a no fuss bend over backwards service.

Has any one had experience with the Nordskog line of guages and the senders used for them?

I'm pretty sceptical of cheap gauges, and they are very cheap. i've never heard of nordskod, sounds like a type of car built in the ukraine.

gauges are pretty important as they relay vital information. I would go for something proven like defi. accurate, peak recall, warning and record mode. they are top notch.

They work out a little more expensive than a set of Autometer guages; the prices on those gauges are without the senders and also in USD.

Not sure if I want to spend $700 on a set of 3 defi gauges though + I don't believe they make them in a 52mm gauge? :)

The Nordskog gauge appears to be well known overseas and I have seen them around when buying gauges for the boat etc. Apparently they are meant to be a good thing, just haven't heard much about them within the auto industry.

I'll try to dig up a little more on them before I make a decision.

25GTT,

The gauge number colour is available in Blue, Red, Amber and Green.

They also do universal dash panels that are all digital.

Also have the option to create your own combination.

They appear to look like a good thing and after a little digging up they are definitely highly respected Marine gauges. No doubt their Auto gauges 'should' be just as good.

defi do make 52mm gauges but only in the 'defi link' series. Defi BF gauges are only 60mm.

yeah you are probably right and the defis are probably not twice as good (even though they are twice the price), but you have to look at them a lot and the defis are very fine gauges. TBH in day light the defi links are better than the BFs anyway. If I didn't already have 4 BFs I would get defi links for sure.

Don't get me wrong I would love a set of Defi Gauges. :)

I just can't justify spending that amount on the little old R32 GTST when it has so much more to be spent on it. It never ends. lol.

+ I'm not sure the other half would be too happy unwrapping a defi gauge for her b/day xmas. lmao

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
