Hey guys,

Sticker on the back it obviously says GTS25 and one cop pulled me over and didnt even check under the hood all he did was check if i tampered with the sticker and he drove off lol.

Im thinking of changing over to a stagea (stock, possibley autech version) but is it easy to tell they are turbo... would i be less likely to be pulled over in a stagea than my non-turbo skyline? Im thinking yes. What are your thoughts?

most cops arn't the smartest cookie's with turbo cars and would most likely be put off as a stagea to being a family wagon. even if your skyline is n/a, you still have more chance as it's a "skyline", and the "skyline" is easy to mod for power.

IMO, the chances of being pulled over in a stagea are somewhere between nill and f**k all (driving style excluded of course)

Earlier this year, we had a Ignition DVD hotspot here in Perth that got completely out of hand. It ended up in the news and started the standard cycle of "hoon" stories on ACA and TT.

I was there in my stag, and about 10pm when the burnouts started me and the missus decided to take off, just as the po po decided to close down all the entrances and do vehicle and license checks on all and sundry. I was in a cue of about 25-30 cars already trying to leave, and I was the ONLY one that got waved through without a second glance. I was kinda put out at the time, because it is my first real "performance" car, but it is all legal and i was looking forward to answering all the standard questions about mah wheelz.

Having said that, there was another WA stagea owner there, and he had to wait until about 3am before the cops took off so he could even start his up, but 600hp awkw JUN motors with bugger all mufflers will do that to you, no matter what car its in (LOL)

G`day DALE i have been STOP about 10 since owning my stagea so i think it`s all about luck, yellow stickered at 9am sunday for darktint,How many stagea are in perth now 30 may be a few more that are not on forum,it`s down to beening lucky.good luck chuckie.

a highway patrol ss stoped next to me today and had a very confused look, as most people do when they see a stagea, i nodded to him and he

nodded back and kept going, it just looks all that innocent.

Ive had the 260 for a few weeks and all i have been gettin from cops are thumbs up :laughing-smiley-014:

I was at a set of lights last tuesday night after work minding my own business, and an angry xr8 driver pulled up beside me and started abusing "jap cars" after looking around i decided to show him what my nice soccer mum car can do and pulled away... come over a hill at about 120 into a RBT, i was in front so i comp breaked down and was waved through, the xr8 driver was immediatly taken to the side and was asked to leave the vehicle, was a good chuckle for me while watching my rear view mirror ;)

go the family wagon!!

I don't think you'll get pulled over in a stagea unless it has a loud as "f**k off" exhaust or something obviously illegal. Only reason I would see a cop pull you over when you're in a stagea is because they 'don't know what it is'. That's what happened to my dad when he was driving the 4dr 32. They pulled him over because they didn't know what it was. :whistling:

I drive spiritedly but I avoid all the ypical "uleh" hang outs.

Yeah, basically in the last 7-8years of driving grey imports I have much the same story.

If you're not being a knob (excessive speeding, burnouts), hanging out in spots where the police go specifically to book people (because they know you'll be there) and have P-plates (they love you guys, assume the worst), chances are you won't get bothered.... much. Should be alright in a Stagea, having a milo tin for an exhaust and 20" rims probably wouldn't help the cause though.

    • So, what did you decide? If these items were going in and out of stock, you could at least order the two in-stock pieces. Also, I'd say the stock bit of airbox isn't that restrictive to your NA motor. To test if it is, fit a vacuum gauge between the airbox and throttle body. At WOT do you measure any vacuum?
    • Hey guys I have a 2001 Nissan stagea vq25det, I don't have any engine lights and not really any issues running but I was curious to see if I could use my obd II scanner to find anything that was hidden and I plugged my scanner in and it just said "Low voltage cannot scan" does anyone know how to fix this or what this could be?
    • Sadly we have something in common, our Skyline's like blowing up electrically 😢
    • So, no videos, but, the FAB9 Elite manifold and 68mm Bosch throttle bodies are in stock, but, not the rear part of the air box The FAB9 rear airbox thingie is made with a 3" intake pipe, to suit the 3" intake pipe size of a 68mm throttle body  When they get some more in stock is currently unknown as I'm waiting for FAB9 to reply with a ETA on resupply, my assumption is they outsource their plastic printing stuff to "china", and with the current "tariff war" going on in 'Merica it could be on hold for an undisclosed time Should I pull the pin on the Intake and throttle body, and wait for the airbox?????, that's what I'm thinking... 1. Would the standard 2.75" OEM intake on the air box really be that much of a restriction compared to the 3" naturally aspirated?????? 2. If I don't get the 3" FAB9 airbox fitted at the same time as the intake and throttle body will it need a retune, when/if it eventually turns up?????? As I'm impulsive, to a fault, decisions will be made within....."what's the time now"???....let's say 12 hours......LOL
