I have seen a car in japan that had R34 attesa and ABS fitted (along with a 34 engine and 6 speed too).

if I was going to do it I would skip the 33 and go straight for 34 if at all possible.

I heard ages ago that you could just swap the controllers, did a 1 minute google and came up with;

http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/upload/6095-r32...controller.html

which refers to this

http://www.carsurvey.org/review_19225.html

Which says "Unless you know what you're doing you'll be better off with an R33 or R34, but for the ultimate in more than one sense of the word, an early R32 is hard to beat.

Handling can be subdued considerably by swapping in the ATTESSA-ETS AWD controller unit from R34, which pretty much makes the car behave like its newer counterparts."

I just ended up getting the cheapo ebay attessa tweaker, and it worked so well i just left it at that. The plugs are different on the attessa units, so its more than just a simple brain swap. No idea how much more.

They work well yes, but you're only ever going to get the system to operate as fast as it's weakest link.

I think it could be worthwhile, I am sure someone has done it.

Just need to do some dredging.

It's funny for how widespread the internet is there is still alot that only exists in the real world and I'm ok with that I think.

For me, i'd want to have some evidence it will make a non-trivial improvement over a tweaked standard system for the effort to be worth it.

But you may just want to satisfy your curiosity and try it!

Driving an R33 GT-R and 33 Back to back clearly shows the worthiness of the AWD upgrade I think.

ETS-PRO while good like the Ruzic unit is still not going to the root issue which is the preload, the speed at which the system operates and of course the vast increase in sample rate.

ETS-Pro maintains preload, the R32 and R33 system are same operating speed (pump gaining and losing pressure) and it has a brand new ECU with much faster sample rates?

I guess you meant R32 and R33 GTRs? If so, thats pretty obvious and therefore not so interesting.

IMO what is more interesting would be comparing an R32GTR+attessa tweaker to an R33GTR without a tweaker.

I'm assuming that the change in front/rear bias as the system evolved is a much more significant affect than things like the ECUs sample/clock rates. It is an assumption tho. Would be interesting to KNOW. Bang for buck and ease of installation the tweaker will be miles ahead.

    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
    • Check the injectors flow evenly, and are actually flowing what you and the ECU think they should be flowing. If it's starting up on starter fluid, you have a fuel issue. Is it possible under cranking your fuel pump is turning off?   The harness you replaced, is that the whole engine harness? Do yourself a test, and drop the old harness on and plug it into the Z32 ECU. It's possible they've wired things different. From memory S1 to S2 is different in RB25 and you may have a wrong loom
    • I haven’t pulled the injectors to watch them spray yet but they are clicking from the cas and all of the spark plugs are wet with fuel. I’ve thought the cylinders were being flooded from the beginning and was hoping fuel pressure would fix it. Tonight I am going to pull the rail and watch the injectors spray. Don’t know how to test/diagnose if the plugs are firing in correct sequence but that should be a timing thing and as far as timing goes my car still has the half moon for the cas can only install it 1 way. And my mechanical timing is 100% correct I posted photos above. Confirmed with the balancer on and off.
