Got some New Bendix Pads fitted to the front of my ride about 3 months ago, by a reputable business, which i will refrain from naming. I find that these pads squel a hell of a lot, to the point where it has become irratating. and they spew huge amounts of brake Dust, by the end of the week my wheels are covered in this filth which is a pain to wash off everyweek.

Is anyone else experiencing this type of wear and noise with Bendix pads? as im really considering getting rid of them.

:P

haven't tried the ultimates, heard that they're rotor eaters... i'm currently on ebc green which i think are pretty good but have new ferodo DS2500's waiting to go in which are supposed to be very good. bit pricey though, double what you'll pay for the ultimates but no comparison as far as braking performance goes.

i use bendix ultimates front and rear, i find that on occasions there is a bit of a squeal but thats nothing compared to the brake dust it leaves, within about 2-3 days my chrome rims are bleck :P

thanks for the feedback fellas. ill try to deal with the dust, and also get my hands on that no squeks stuff..

kinda funny short story. one of my auntie's saw my car about a month ago when my wheels were covered in brake dust. then two weeks after she came around again, when my wheels were clean. and she said " Wow.. love the new Mags you bought, they look great".. explaining to her that I've had them the whole time was funny...

end.

QFM HPX FTW! Better performance than Ultimates, whilst still being very low dust and rotor wear...

Where do you get them from and how much?

I have ultimates. They're pretty dirty pads, but like evil weevil I have black rims so it doesn't bother me. And squeal comes and goes, it squeals on rare occasions for me. It seems to be different from car to car as for the amount of squeal.

Overall I'm happy with them and their performance for a road car, even though they have their downsides, they were dirt cheap.

$75. I'm a QFM Stockist (as well as Bendix, EBC, RDA, Ferodo, Protex etc.), and I'd take QFM over any of them...

PM me, or checkout www.gslrallysport.com if you're interested.

  • 3 weeks later...

I've been using Prime brake pads really cheap pad $90 all round, no dust problems no squeal problems and I give them a real bashing... was using ultimates at $200 all round, got sick of them real quick... and I honestly can't see these prime pads as being bad at all... They have been on for 3months, I must admit I haven't been driving as much but They seem fine...

cheap usually sucks... but not these, I didn't think they would be much chop but since they are only $90 for both front and rear I thought they are worth a go... very surprised, I wouldn't use them for track though I have another setup for those days, but do take them on rather harsh midnight runs...

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
