Hey all,

I know there is HEAPS of discussion relating to standard ECU remaps, however I cannot seem to find any information of people doing them in W.A!

There is Dr Drift and Toshido, but they are in the eastern states...

My Skyline is relatively lightly modded, such as FMIC, GTR fuel pump, GTR injectors, standard turbo and good boost controller. So i would only want to boost up to about .9 bar.

Because of the light mods i cant really justifying going out and buying an aftermarket ecu, until i start messing with the Turbo.

Does anyone know\recommend someone, who is based in W.A and is good at remapping an R32 ecu?

Cheers,

Bernhard

Hyperdrive will do the nistune roms. Very good solution.

This is my R32 GTS4 result with stock boost, stock turbo, just cat back and cooler.

That CEFF1E rom did fk all for my RB20, the only benefit of my getting it is that when I put the RB30 in I used the CEFF1E remap because it didn't have R&R.

Hyperdrive remapped my 32 ecu to run my RB30 with z32 afm and 550cc injectors. Give them a call

Cool thats sounds good, roughly how much did it set you back?

Is Dr Drift coming to perth!?!??!

best to call them and ask --> http://www.hyperdrivems.com.au/

Sweet, just got quoted $880

Which is not too bad, a little more expensive then i would have hoped but definately still cheaper then buying an after market ecu and tuning it (~$1500+)

Hey, just wondering.....

My boost controller will be arriving soon and i was wondering is it safe to boost up to 0.9 bar while the car is not tuned, as tuning will most probably occur sometime at the beginning of next year.....

I don't want it to run too lean and go pop.....

is the nistune the same as the old lumpy rom? they just changed the name of it?

No, very different.

Its real time tuning, so no chip in / out. You can also buy the software for it yourself.

That means you can data log and make changes as you please(should you know what your doin).

It pretty much does everything the power fc software does.

ask CEFF1E, he sold me a remap and its works wonders... better than the one from AutoSport Engineering, I've noticed heaps more low down...

I haven't dynoed it yet, but will do and post up results

I had a back to back dyno run with the CEFF1E remap on my RB20, nothing changed down low, the AFR curve was EXACTLY the same. Only thing that happened was I gained 5hp up high.. tuner said it was probably due to an extra degree or so of timing up high.

The only benefit of my getting that remap was that it didn't have R&R, so I was able to run my RB30 on it for a while and it saved me about $200 off the proper tune as I already had an ecu with a cradle soldered in.

My advice, ring Hyperdrive and get a real tune/remap

    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
    • Nice car! I’m glad folks in the US have gotten past the FnF and are buying real cool cars like the 260RS I was with a bunch of mates in Portland about a year ago and spotted a green Stagea (just a regular 2.5T AWD) parked about 2 blocks away and they were like “a what?” So I made a bet with them for a round of beers and said “ok one of you run down there and tell me if the steering wheel is on the correct side” 5 mins later the American comes trudging back up the hill and goes “he’s right guys. Ok what beer do you want?”
    • Should replace OR drop the tank, give it's good clean. Might be worth replacing that entire fuel level/pump/cradle thing with this: https://frenchysperformancegarage.com/products/fpg-s13-180sx-r32gtst-single-pump-hanger-kit-billet-hat-6-v3-fpg-089?gQT=2
