Mines been off the road for 2 years and 6 days... and counting

I took up heavy binge drinking, dropped the GF and started clubbing again to pass the time... lol.

Should actually be back in the road in *coughs* a month or two... serious... :/

Its Gay hey no car!!! I think everyone here has been with out their cars for a long period of time at one stage or another, I know some that have had there off the road for 3 years or more only to bring it life for a week end die again.

Mate of mine picked up a scratch in the the rear quarter of his R33 GTR when he parked it at work. Decided to get both rear guards resprayed and the bonnet, front bar and front guards to get rid of the scratch and various stone chips.

Quoted $2,500 by the recommended repairer of his insurer.

Paint run in the left rear quarter, lower front bar not sprayed ("it's not the front bar"), front guards not sprayed at all, poor paintwork on the bonnet (because they DIDNT F**KING PREP IT PROPERLY), overspray around the fuel filler, inner trim panels cracked and put back in with double sided tape, excessive mastic sealant around the quarter windows causing poor fit, charged for new side moulding clips and the side mouldings now fit poorly.

FIIIINALLY! Booked into Trojan for Monday... John & Ang already work crazy hours, and all you buggers are taking up his time :) haha so I'm being squeezed in, and not sure how long it'll be (guessing ~10 days give or take). Still waiting on an oil cooler from Slide, should be here in 3-4 days. Everything else is here: GTRS, PFC & EBC, Nismo 740cc's & pump, Blitz FMIC.

Given the recent number of posts about the GTRS turbo and how well suited it is to RB25, I'm very excited :) There's some really nice curved dyno graphs on here... mmm curves...

Plus if it's ready by the 11th, I can go to Wakefield the very next day :D:)

Back on the road! Grinning from ear to ear. Got 256rwkw on a very nice and safe tune, only 16.5 PSI. Using stock airbox too (don't want the extra noise/intake heat of a pod). The power comes on pretty darn smoothly, and the response is very similar to stock, just a 5h1tload more power! Thanks to John and Angelo :D

My car @ Turbo Upgrade thread

Might be going to Wakey on Tuesday and see how it fares, compared to last time where it overheated after two sessions :)

I've got some spare parts for sale too, will list them up shortly, cbf just now.

Man... I forgot what i's like driving a Skyline around here hahahah. Commodores n a few others feeling they have to make their presence known to me. The stovetop lights must attract them like gnats to a light :) FUN TIMES :D

haha I think it's too late to get the license on time isnt it! It sounds interesting though! I'll look into it next time :O I posted in the events section about going to Wakefield this Tuesday but no comments :) I loved it the first time and wanna see what I can do in more than 2 sessions haha

BTW, went for a ride tonight in my car and then in with a mate in his new SS commodore. Both agreed mine would fairly kicks his ass... not from a dead halt, but would be far ahead not long after :)

Check with DIF, but I'm pretty sure you can get your licence on the day.

    • Temporary. Sorry about the inconvenience while we sort some issues.
    • I mean it's a bit late to say "This won't have any tangible effect and it is not worth spending more than about three seconds on it, please just enjoy the car" But I said it anyway. Does the pod actually get any airflow in that position behind a bumper like that?
    • Hey guys - apologies for digging this up. Has this website been shutdown or is the outage temporary?
    • So, went shopping at Just Jap for things that might work for the intake  After some trial fitting there I ended up with a 3" x 45° silicone bend, a 3" x 300mm alloy straight, and a humped joiner, some minor trimming will be required to shorten some of the stuff, but nothing that is beyond my "ham fisted" skills The guy at Just Jap was most helpful as we had all sorts of joiners,  bends and stuff out trial fitting  Laying it out above the stuff in there it seems everything will fit nicely, and looking at it, it is probably the way I should have been looking at doing it from the beginning, probably..... In the end it is a front bar off job anyway to remove the original stuff behind the front bar that is taking up the required realestate needed, so maybe a Thursday or Friday job And because I'm a hopeless consumer, I grabbed some new steel wheel nuts, the current ones are a spline drive type with a "security" socket, that somehow someone keeps misplacing, the new ones are a basic black steel 17mm hex socket In other news: I just did my "final" tax return, I am now officially a old retired veteran pensioner, and I'm milking the system for all it's worth,  life is good
