some of you have cruised with us before thru the back of yarra glen & kinglake, and i promised we'd invite you all to our next big cruise, some things are yet to be finalised, but i will keep you all up to date on definate meet points etc..

so, guys & girls, your officially invited to the next antrx.com cruise which will be held on july 19 or 20 (depends on peoples preferences) the cruise will be starting in the nunawading/mitcham area and heading across to the bellarine peninsula.

meeting points are yet to be finalised, but the cruise route is 90% planned. i will keep everyone up to date on meet points & the likes... this is more of just a heads up post so you guys know whats going on.

if i could please get an indication of possibly who would like to come, and a preference on the date you would like to cruise on (either 19th or 20th) then that would be great..

thanks guys, we hope to see some of you there..

ryan

ok guys, well, to quickly answer some of the questions, first of all, no we wont discriminate against what kinda cars are coming along.. antrx is keen to have anyone come along, the more the merrier. we have a lot of 4 cylinder cars coming along, and quite a few 6 cylinder cars as well, and a huge mix of turbos and na cars. our only real ask is that you please dont be a dickhead on the road, or have an attitude towards people with a "lesser" car than yourself.. and i'm sure most people can handle that :D

the date is going to be sunday the 20th of july. not only is this most people preference, but once before we've made another car club quite grumpy because we organised a huge nissans only cruise the same day they organised a cruise, and, as far as i'm aware, there are no cruises currently being held on the 20th. thats sunday in 3 weeks for those that arent sure.

as for the meet point, i'm going for a drive tonite to get the street names (i'm forgetful :P) but i will have the location posted over the weekend. however, if there are as many cars going to show up as i think there will be, then we might have to move on to a much bigger location, possibly the business park area cnr springvale & burwood hwys.

as for a time, i'm thinking around 10:30-11am start.

oh.. also a quick note.. be prepared to deal with traffic in some areas.. keep in mind we are cruising from the eastern suburbs to geelong/torquay

also if you have a cb radio, dont forget to bring it along.

Yeah...

sledge is onto it ryan.

it's a much bigger spot.

And will accomodate the huge number of cars that i too think will be coming :D

We use it often for the R31 meets. Just due to it's sheer size!

Where is this?

As long as Ash is NOT leading with directions, we should be fine to meet there, otherwise give us an extra 5 hrs to get there via Shepparton. :) :)

    • Small update for the day... Turns out the intercooler and engine coolant hose kits are anything but complete....I probably should have counted better but it only really covers about half the coolant hoses in the car, it really just covers the visible stuff and pretends everything else doesn't exist (turbo water feed and returns and also heat exchanger lines through the 2 pumps and cooler) .In any case, I'm happier to have half reliable hoses than none, but a bit of a disappointment. Anyway...finger click (and 5 hours).....hoses in place, lots of spring clamps replaced with screw clamps, and engine coolant is on the pressure tester for the night.   Incidentally, upsized header tank is an Inifiniti factory option....not sure I'll ever do prod car racing in this but at least it is legal.
    • Just weld it onto the hot pipe. If you want it right after the turbo, put it right after the turbo. Or rip the comp cover off and drill and tap a hole into it.
    • hahaha glad I can rely on you two to go on a spiral at the drop of a problem! Some quick answers....the ducting is excellent top bottom and sides....everything that gets in goes through the coolers (noting the oil cooler redirects it out again, fair call if it is cooling 120o+) and the heat exchanger for the intercooler also has some scoops to pick up more than it's fair share too. I can't see going down the water spray track....no bueno for formal racing and a big risk for long rally days if you run out (plus I'm not clear if it is allowed there either yet).   Frankly, it must be possible to reliably put 400kw through a standard front end, the BMWs do it so I just need to work it out....I'm starting with reducing blockages in the way and adding some coolant capacity with a bigger header tank, flushing rad and making sure it was filled/bled properly (I didn't do the last coolant change); also taken measurements incase next step is a bigger/higher capacity custom radiator
    • wow, a completely stock GTR! I've got to admit, I have no idea from what you are describing....do you have  any idea where the "thump" comes from, and are you certain it is the HICAS light not something else like the cat overheat light?
    • nice work, welcome to the world of CAD! fabricating accurately in 3 dimensional space is beyond me....I almost always end up making something more than once...sorry I mean I extensively use prototyping
