Well don't be mislead by the heading sarcasm is a good vent...

I parked at Glenhuntly station and have done so for about 2 years with no issues.

So I get to my car today after work and find this!

They didn't steal anything or scratch the car (Feeeew) just broke the rear window...

Now I need some help I have done some searching and Nissan are quoting about $1k for a new one :P

Does anyone have one in Melb 2nd hand or know someone who can get one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can post/PM or call 0422 206 869

Neways I wouldn't wish this on anyone... it just makes me ill that people do not respect other peoples property - I work damn hard just to get the car to where I want it then they just smash it for no apparent reason other then to be a hindrance! Good thing I didn't see who did it...

Cheers,

Steve

looks like an R32 GTSt :P kinda obvious

haha that would have been my guess. but one can never be sure of these things!

also, the reason why people break windows etc. is because is nsw its a $250 on-the-spot fine, and no court appearance or criminal record.

but the fine for burnout is what...$461? yep i really hate the nsw gov.

"Glenhuntly is basically next to dandenong.... and parking your car at a train station... naughty."

Hahaha no I think you have it mixed up, Glenhuntly is about 1hrfrom Dandy

I know I shouldnt park at the station, but I have to get to work in the CBD, I cant drive coz pertol + parking = WAT TOO MUCH

I have looked around and am slowly building contacts

At the end I will post all the contacts for windows so others who go through this can find some help quick!

Thanks again guys

hehe that's why I bought a motorbike to ride to the station. and if I'm late I ride to work. the SE freeway's so much quicker on a bike in the morning rush hour.

wouldn't even dream of parkin the 32 at dandy station.

that's the way mate..

tell everyone where you park your Black R32 GTST All day every day.

Some people are waaaaaay to trusting..

Do you realise that you don't even need a logon to view this site?

do you realise that your car is parked there for over 8 hours all day?

you obviously don't have a fancy alarm that pages you if the car moves or is broken in to other wise it wouldn't have sat there all day with a smashed window.

I'd seriously think about blanking out the area where your car is parked.

and possibly ask others that have quoted it to blank it out.

or get a mod to do it all.

    • Have a vb in honour of the car comming back
    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.
