hey i got this r32 gtst coupe, rb20det, completely standard, except carbon fibre clutch.

The mods I wanna do:

Chuck a big front mount intercooler, then a full exhaust system

then I was thinking about chucking a RB25 turbo on

at the moment its boosting roughly 7PSI (slow :) ), but with this set up I reckon I could wind the boost up to about 13PSI, so it will go twice as fast :D

should cost me about $3500 or so give or take a couple hundred

what do you reckon, would this be good, and would it be safe to run 13PSI? OR would a different turbo be better?

oh and obviously add a POD filter.

i agree with simon 32. i boosted 12-13 psi. it becomes guttless, like hitting a brick wall. u really need an ecu that has been tuned to cope with it. but at 10psi the rb25 turbo pulls and pull.

now keep in mind i have a r33, not r32.

anyone else notice that he said it will cost him about $3500... what the!!!

r33 turbo - $350

just jap fmic kit - $400 delivered

no point gettin a tune if you havnt changed the ecu or added a piggyback. o and if your only gettin 7psi...you should you dont have a r33 acuator on it? r32 should run about 10.

    • I think he was only proposing to use the wire, not the sender. Simply because it runs from the right place to the right place. Personally, I wouldn't hack up the factory wiring like that. I'd just lay in the Defi loom.
    • From memory it wasn't too hard to simply see which wire ran where when you plug that in. Unfortunately also from memory the OEM sender does not use the same configuration 99.9% of gauges run. So in other words if you connect the signal wire that was running to the OEM gauge to your DEFI gauge you might find your oil reads at 200C or some other incorrect value. I remember having the same line of thought and then running new wires/senders to match the gauges I have. The pinout is available in the R34 workshop manual.
    • Does anyone on here know which wire on the GTT triple gauge pod harness is for the oil temp gauge? my sensor works fine but I upgraded the gauges to DEFI advance. And if I can simply piggyback off the oem oil temp wire to the Defi oil temp sensor wire that would make life so much easier.
